I bought a kit from Mansfield Guitars. It was easy to install but you do need some tools and the ability to locate the resistor. I did call them for help and they were great to deal with. I saw pics of one installed on a Roadster on their ebay auction. They are available on their website but they are cheaper on ebay but I think that's going to end soon. It really warmed up the amp. I'll never own another amp without adjustable bias

How is the Electra Dyne and Mark V biased? Cold as well?
C'mon now rabies, you've been around here long enough to know the answer to that. All Mesa's are biased cold for various reasons. One,they rely on the preamp to supply the distortion, the outputs are just clean, cold, and if they bias them cold, theres no need to worry about a tube being too hot and causing problems they would have to rectify under warranty. It also gives them a very wide margin of tubes that will be "safe" meaning less rejects when they sort big lots of tubes.

Thats what I've been saying that around here for years.

Also, and this may be a stupid question....When you put in an adjustable bias, does the 6L6/EL34 switch still work properly?

Depends on how you mod it. I set up a Rectifier I had so that 6L6 mode was stock, and EL34 mode used adjustable bias. It was cool because I could go directly back and forth between stock and hotter bias. Stock sounded better than "proper" 60 - 70%, then I sold the amp; go figure. Probably just needed a cap job though, as this was last summer and the amp was a '93 Rev. F Dual.

Just checked the bias on my DC-5. I came up with 41% on my Weber Bias Rite. Maybe
I'll look into making the bias adjustable. FWIW, it does sound really good where its at
but now I can't help but wonder how good it would sound at 65-70%?

I am a big fan of the adjustable bias mod,but I've found that most Boogies, when biased as hot as 70% get too raunchy on the lead channel.I've done the mod to many amps, and most of them were biased at 20-30% stock. But,as I've said many times before,pre-selected tubes from Mesa can vary by 20ma's when they are alleged to be the same grade as the last pair.
