Great Thanks!

Do you use a 13" or 19" gooseneck?

Where's your sweet spot for mic placement? I usually go for the NE rim.

Do you place the mic perpendicular to the speaker or lay it flat on it?

Thanks for your help man.

Well, I'm not an authority on mic placement, but I put it perpendicular to the speaker and off center, in other words, not on cone center. The longer gooseneck would work better. I have the shorter one and wish it were longer. Hope that helps.

Thanks man.

Sorry to keep asking all these questions, but this is a big help.

Do you use a boom stand in between the amp stand and the goose or just use amp stand and goose only?

I use a mini boom connected to the stand, then the gooseneck connected to the miniboom.

Sorry to dig up this old thread, but I"m searching for an amp stand for my LSS. I tried the Standback Amp Stand, but it doesn't work well with coasters.

The ampendage doesn't look great for Live settings...

Here's what I"m looking at:

Any other suggestions would be great!

I know you said you tried the Standback stand and it didn't work (because of the casters), but that is what I am using these days with a LSC and it is amazing for many reasons. I dealt with the caster issue by just getting a small rubber mallet to pop off the two back casters. It words like a charm and it easy, keeps the amp on the floor for better response, etc. I use it all the time now--even in rehearsals.

I have tried onstage and other tiltback stands and while they weren't horrible, they were bulky and simply not as versatile as the Standback. I would give this a look again.

Thanks for the input everyone.

I ended up going with the Ultimate Support Genesis AMP-150

Very solid. Perfect for the LSS
