Can excessive amounts of feedback (ala Sonic Youth) damage the amp or speakers in any way or cause extra stress on the tubes? I just got back from seeing them live and it got me curious on exactly what it's doing to their amps. My ears are still ringing from that show haha.

i dont think its putting any more strain on the tubes or the speakers then normal playing for them is. The volume is still the same but its just a sustaining high pitched tone that will make your ears ring more then a powerchord would.
