I've checked if this topic has already been covered but I didn't find anything so I'm sorry if this has already been answered. I've always wondered if you can turn the Hi/Lo mode switch on the 50/50 poweramp up and down with the amp on or if you've to turn it off before changing the mode. The manual doesn't say anything about that. Usually I use it full power and, the rare times I use it in Lo mode, I switch it before turning it on but I was curious to know if I can switch it back and forth between the two modes to A-B the tone without having to turn it off. Thanks.

I've never switched it on/off while playing, but I think it will not hurt anything. It just lower the PI plate voltage allowing that tube to break up earlier.

Yeah, I think that as much as don't implies the power tubes should be fine, it just makes a POP when switching while on but I think it's pretty normal. Thanks.

I've done it and it shouldn't hurt at all. The pop is the only thing but like bluestometal said that's normal.
