Ive got a Roadster that im satisfied with but have always wonder if i can get the same tone and sound as a 2 channel rectifier.

some say that the 2channel was easier to dial in and was tighter.
please give me the answer!!!!!

and what can I benfit by hard by pass the loop of my roadster

You cannot. The Roadster is NOT a 2 ch DR. I've played both, and owned several 2ch's already, and even a 3ch. The 2ch's are tighter and easier to dial in an organic, non-fizzy tone.

When you bypass the loop, you get a fatter sound, for whatever reason. This is the case in all Rectifiers and should be the way you play unless you have efx going.

For more on 2ch vs 3ch, read my website.

ok i checked it out. nice info.thanks!!!!

have never played on a 2 chan dual but im interested for sure

I think the tones are simular, but the feel and tightness cant be matched by a roadster. I actually play better on the 2 ch's.

Tjenare Vildråttan ;)

One thing that I discovered recently is that on the Roadsters and Road King's it makes a lot sense to run all knobs higher than on for ex a 2 ch Dual Rec. (I didn't do this exp on a 3ch yet because I don't have any anymore...and I miss them)
I used to run the bass around 9 oclock, mid at 10 maybe and treble at noon and pres between 0-and 1.
Now I found that running the bass really high, like past noon or even 1-2 somewhere, mids around noon or 1, and treb around 2 and presence at 9, can sound VERY good. Try that ballpark and DON'T FORGET - try doing it on Modern on channel 3 and not only channel 4!!

Ha det bra, vi hörs

BTW - recording new album NOW. Visit http://www.myspace.com/narniaofficial for info.
New Rob Rock DVD "Live in Atlanta" on it's way also. Catch it when it's out for some live Triple Rectifier abuse!!!! ;)

hahahahI was gonna mail you now hahhaha. iVE tested my roadster all weekend and it is a very easy to dial in amp. ive got exactly the same settings as you CJ. but what do u think about Roadster vs 2 channel dual.?????

talked to my friend who has a friend(hahhah) that got a 2 channel mesa boogie recto dualfrom the 90s
he is saying that he dont notice any sounddifference from his 3 chan mesa boogie dual.

the later 2 channels sounds more as the new 3 channel ones or...........???????

im so curious bout this magic amp

ANY 2ch does not equal ANY 3ch or Roadster, Road King, etc.

For starters, the components inside are different, the transformers are different, many things are different. Amps with different components do not sound the same.

Your friend of a friend needs to take a listen one more time. I noticed the difference in tone after ONE CHORD of playing the older amps. I don't mean to be so blunt but it's the truth.

ok Now ive heard a soundclip between a 92 dual recto 2 channel and the Roadster.THANK YOU CJG!!!!

and there was some difference in the tone but the roadster sounds very very very similar.

They will sound very simular, expecially recorded tones, also in a live enviroment most people would not notice the difference. However there is a difference and it just depends what sound you are going for.

My recto of choice is a Roadking V1.

Triple Rectifier 2 Channel for the win! Nothing compares to the tones in those things!

but the later 2 channel compared to the 3 channel then???? is it differences there too.????yeah probably but .......

there are differences even between a Rev G and a 3ch. You have to take a leap of faith and trust those who've made the comparisons and looked at the circuit boards, etc.

yes i understand, that s the reason why I ask!!!!!!!!!!!

lots of people talk about a lot of díffrences between the 2 chan vs 3 chan but I don t really understand it.

maybe cause I never have played a 2 chan dual. that s the reason why i ASK.there is no sound clips at the boogie archives so.......

help me with the differences then

I do have to say though, in general, and not applying to everyone, but the differences are still based on what you think is good. I have people preferring one over the other. An example would be that the newer revision Dual Rectos seem more "fuzzy" and "brighter", but in a band mix, it really depends on what blends better in mix for you...

To my ears, the gain on the 2 channels is more organic and less fizzy. There's far fewer frequencies that can't be dialed out, and with the fizz gone, to me sounds much more versatile. Also, the older Rectos seem to be tighter in the bottom end and less muddy.

To try and give you a good comparison, here's a clip I found of a 3 channel Triple that's pretty spot on as to how they sound:

Here's a clip of a 2 channel:

I don't think either one sounds bad at all, but to my ears, the 2 channel has much better tone.

thanks KH and Magic....this is super help for me. thats what im searching after.
super thanks

2ch (limp bizkit, for better or worse, that's thick tone)
