Just as the title states.
I got it 2nd hand a year and a half ago.
Sounded good before slowly but sure it's fading.

I just put new mesa stock 6l6's and seemed to help
but not enough.

Time for some tubes in the front end....

I want it to sound like new one again

It's that old but it's been a "bedroom" amp for that entire time.
I got it from a kid who went to jail on drug charges.

It sounded pretty good when I got it.

So, early this morning, I ordered the "metal" preamp tube kit from Doug's Tubes
I'm really excited to try this set out because I have read nothing but good things about it.

I checked the amp and it has JJ ecc83's in all spots on the preamp.

The orange glow in them is there but faint.

Before I swapped the power tubes, they all would glow but one was faint.

After swapping them out they all seem to glow evenly.

Doug's said they will ship today, I'm in RI they are on Long Island, so hopefully by friday they will be here.

The orange glow in your preamp/power tubes are the heaters. They don't always glow the same and don't necessarily indicate anything about the state of the tube other than they are being warmed up. The blue glow you sometimes get in the power tubes IS a result of the tube working and if one looks quite a bit different than the others, then it's time to change it/them. If you know the rating of your existing power tubes, then you can request one/some with the same rating. If not, you should get all new, matched power tubes.

I got the new preamp tubes in the mail saturday.

My rig is at my rehearsal spot an hour away and I don't practice again till friday.

I will post an update after I toss them and and sun through our set a few times.
