I bought my combo in March (time flies!) and I LOVE IT. It did took me a bit to get fully comfortable with the amp, I've read the manual probably 6 times from start to finish. And again when I have specific doubts, but it has payed off. I know exactly how to dial this amp in different contexts...

I have the previous combo with the D sonic in the bridge and the custom in the neck on my 2007 basswood JP7. I've been curious if its worth it to upgrade the pickups to the Liquifire/Crunchlab. Any comments?

Thanks for your comments, yeah I know it would look better with a head. But I just love this combo way too much to exchange it for a head, it's like with some guitars, you just have a right vibe with them. I could see ordering a second Mark V tho :) I'll subscribe to the newsletter for sure...

@jjboogie How did you find the combo on top of the 4x12? Any weird feelings or vibes? I mean aesthetically. Sound wise I doubt there's a difference. I'm the owner of a combo, and looking for an extension cab...and your pics got me thinking. :twisted: BTW "STRONG" = awesome stuff.

Thanks for posting this, yeah probably using the Tubescreamer to tighten up channel 2. Who knows! Those Mark V look great.

Exactly my thoughts, sounds good, but it has excessive high end IMO. Combining the settings for 6600 slider, the presence knob and the Treble knob its unreal for me. Plus the V30s are BRIGHT speakers. I could never pull it off.

Welcome, as others have pointed out, read the manual. It's great! Also try dialing your own settings for best results. Enjoy the amp! I love mine :D

Did you ended up calling Mesa? If you did, out of curiosity, how much did they quote you for the headshell?

I know this might be redundant, or maybe I misread. But have you tried calling Mesa about this?

Figures... I guess I'll try that widebody cab with the C90, and decide if I should put the EVM in it later on. Sadly no one around has a EVM :(
