    Roadster- too much all around

Finding a Mesa combo under 50lbs's is pretty tough. The Express amps might fit your needs, but I'm not sure. I still think your better off with a head because its ultimately more versatile. I've played the JSX and was quite satisfied with that amp...ultimately the Boogie won me over though...

    Roadster- too much all around

+1 on checking out the Stiletto. I was in your boat a while ago too..except I had a roadster combo. Great sounding amp...but I had all the same complaints as you...plus I could barely carry the thing on my own! Then I picked up a Deuce II and all those problems went out the window. My advice...

Recto Sounds on new Foo Fighter's CD?

wikipedia discusses this to some extent.

Recto Sounds on new Foo Fighter's CD?

+1...I've only noticed combos on stage when they play lately. Either way, they sound great...a 100W roadking 2X12 is so loud that they probably don't need the 4X12's when everythings getting sent to the PA anyways.. And I think they brought Pat back as a touring musician.

Recto Sounds on new Foo Fighter's CD?

I've been listening to the new Foo Fighters album lately..great rock 'n roll CD!!!!! I'm assuming that Dave Grohl is playing either Roadsters or Roadkings on that album, since that's what it looked like at the Grammy's and on SNL. Anyhow, they sound great on the cd...the over driven sounds are...

Trade in amps at Music store?

Before I sold my Roadster, I considered trading/selling it to Guitar Center. One of the salesmen there, who I know well and trust, told me they look to make ~30% off what they buy it from you for...which meant that I wasn't going to get what I wanted. I think the best option is to go to eBay...

I am finally an official member of the Mesa owners club

nice rig! the jsx and recto should compliment each other nicely. I'm a big fan of the jsx sound...I almost got that, but decided to go with the Stiletto instead.

Proud owner of a shiny new boogie

congrats! you made a great choice..... the Deuce's only flaw is that it doesn't go to 11....but I think they made 10 "one more louder"

Ibanez JS1000 with Boogie Express 5:25/5:50

Never played through an Express but I have used my JS1000 with three different Boogie amps. 1) Mark IV: Absolutely blistering on the lead channels with the FRED engaged. Didn't do much riffing (it wasn't my amp), but riffing would sound good with the p/u's in the middle or bridge position...

Would you change anything about this configuration Riff? As I'd like to note this as something worth trying in the future.

    Help with my Stiletto Ace

I don't have anything incredibly insightful to add here, but I'm finding the stock Mesa Tubes on my Deuce II a bit harsh as well. I don't think the amp is too bright, I just feel that the amp isn't consistently warm across the channels. I think taking a look at Doug's Tubes would be worth your...

I Love My Stiletto Deuce (personal testimonial)

+1 The MarkIV has some incredible sounds, but the only time I enjoyed playing through one was when I played a dude's who already had good settings in place. When the rare opportunity to play one in a store presented itself, I would get frustrated because I didn't know enough about the amp to...

I Love My Stiletto Deuce (personal testimonial)

@warlock...thanks for the tips...my main guitar is an Ibanez JS1000 so I've got it set for that, but I may occasionally use a les paul for Drop D stuff.. @srf, glad we are in agreement. I can't overstate, enough, how easy it is to get a great sound out of this amp.

Thanks.... and on that sound clip...ah...if only I had some time. I'll see what i can do.

I Love My Stiletto Deuce (personal testimonial)

A few weeks ago I picked up a used, albeit mint-condition, Stiletto Deuce II from a board member and I could not be happier. My purpose in this post is not to gloat or waste your time, but merely describe what I love about the amp to help others who are searching for the right amp make their...

Roadster VS MArk IV which one (if same price)

I think the JSX is an EL34 based amp...so the Mark IV or the Roadster won't sound too similar to the JSX because they're based on different power tube designs. Keep in mind the Mark IV has a simul class option and the roadster has the option to select EL34's, but I still think these amps sound...

Best "Soft Case" for an Amp Head?

Thanks man...the studio slips looks like they have exactly what i want/need.

Best "Soft Case" for an Amp Head?

Are the D2F clip covers good though? Like well made, padded, etc? My amp is in pristine condition and I'm careful to pack it away from other things when I move it..I just want that extra layer of protection for back and forth jam sessions.
