returning to the fold - hopefully

Ok, so while waiting for a reply I fired it up again and was able to dial in a tone that works pretty well for what I'm looking for in a relatively short amount of time. I think I actually like the stock speaker better than my single 12 cab with a v30. Still thinking about an attenuator though...

returning to the fold - hopefully

It's been a long time since I've gigged with my bare bones 60W IIC+ - pushing 9 years now. That gig was a jazz/funk band and the IIC+ was perfect for the sound I was looking for. Now I'm in more of a roots/rock band that requires a more raw sound and less volume. So here are my questions: 1)...

Tubes to tighten up a Mark IIC+

It's nice to know I'm not the only one that is mystified by the mkiic+. I know this sounds really bizarre (to me at least), but my barebones 60 watt combo sounds amazing with my Cort M800 (cheapish ripoff of a PRS hollowbody) and yet I can't dial it in nearly as well with my Suhr strat or...

mark 2 c+ volume dropped between channels

Mine does this too - and the folks I talked to at Boogie said 1 sec or less is normal, but if it's longer then it could be a problem LDR.

    Finally got my IIC+ back!!!

Remind me to just phone and talk to Mike B the next time I have any problems with my IIC+. Several months ago I had a nasty issue with raspiness at higher volumes, especially with certain frequencies. I tried swapping tubes, prodding the chassis looking for loose connections, swapping out the...

    IIC+ Problems persist

When I spoke with Mike B a few years back he said a short swell from lead to rhythm was normal and that I should only worry if it takes more than 1-2 seconds. He also said the LDRs do go from time to time and that if the swell was longer than 1-2 seconds it would need replacing. FWIW :D

Can I play Bass Guitar through a MK11c?

As long as you're not connected to a guitar speaker and you're not running the amp wide open I can't see any problems. I wouldn't have a clue how to dial in a good bass tone with that amp, but you can probably get by. If you are going to be playing a few gigs on bass you might want to look into...

    MARK IIC+ QUESTION

Talk to the guys at http://www.thetubestore.com/. They know boogies and can steer you right and they're not too far from you - I believe they're in Hammertown :).

Found a Mark IIC+ no EQ 60 watt combo FS

Speaking as someone that has a stripped down C+ I honestly don't miss any of the extra bells and whistles. I suppose it would be nice to have the eq, but the basic sound of the amp is so nice that I really don't need it and I certainly have never felt that the amp needed two more power tunes. It...

Two Subway Rockets, one footswitch, How ???

I'm wondering if this could be as simple as a stereo splitter cable. Is the footswitch for the subway rocket TRS? If so, I don't see why a female TRS to double male TRS plugs wouldn't work. You might even be able to convince Circuit City or the like to take it back if it doesn't work or you...

From great debate:IIC+ or not IIC+ (that is the question :p)

Is the IIC+ the final answer? I guess that depends what the question is. I'm not being facetious here, I'm serious. There are certain things it does not do or doesn't do well. It doesn't have the 'chime' that certain other amps such as AC30's have and it doesn't really do certain Marshall...

    sick IIC+

Well I finally did what I should have done a long time ago and phoned Boogie tech support. Although it's impossible to diagnose over the phone Mike B suggested that it could be the pull pots failing as he's seen these causing vibration related noises before. I'm crossing my fingers!

I'm pretty amazed at the response this post has generated. I guess you all can sense my frustration and sympathize. Thanks all for the responses!!

That's awesome! I guess I need to do some shopping for the Caig stuff. I'm gonna save this post for future reference. Thanks!!

    sick IIC+

Interesting thought, although it's always been played in the same location since I bought it and never had problems like this before. I supposed it's possible that the wall voltage in the house has dropped since we upgraded to 200 amp service last summer. I don't know if I'd call the problem...

    Anyone want a IIC+?

As a form of thanks and a welcome I thought I'd mention seeing this while looking for an empty head shell for mine. I know nothing about the seller, but it looks legit - or at least looks like the mine but with everything. I have a strong suspicion the bids will get a little higher Cheers. :D

Wow - I think I'm gonna grow to love this place quick! I can't belive I got 4 responses in 16 minutes! I would agree that the filter caps could indeed be due for changing, but I wasn't sure that the problem indicated this. If I can find some time I'll try giving boogie a phone call tomorrow...

    sick IIC+

First of all, I'm a noob here so 'hi' to everyone. I've got a no frills IIC+ (60 watt, no eq, no 'verb, black tolex) that has been my dream amp since I found it used for a good, low price about 3 years ago. I haven't been gigging for the last year or so and don't often get the chance to crank...
