Looking for a good deal on a headshell for my rackmount MKIIB.
Will also be interested in trading my rackmount kit, if you happen to need it.
Also looking for a EQ slider/Knob to replace one which has snapped off on My MKIIB.
I've left several messages at Boogie, with no call back. I'd...
Since my recently purchased MKIIB didn't come with a channel changing footswitch, I decided to build one up from some extra parts that I had. I'm posting the info here for anyone else who wants to make their own. This pedal should work on any amp which uses the simple on - off switching...
A quick Google search turned up this page with general bias information:

The original tubes were the Mesa Boogie 440 STR 6L6's running at 30ma.
Before the mod, I tried removing the STR's and putting in the Tung Sol's. The hope was that the Tung Sol's would fall in the same bias range, and nothing further would be required. When I measured the bias on the Tung...
In answer to my initial question.
The 10K resistor in the first photo which has the blue arrow pointing to it, is not the bias resistor. I repeat, is NOT the bias resistor. It's the green arrow.
Thanks for the response. I think the MKIIA's came stock with the trimpot. They were removed in the MKIIB's.
I just finished adding the trimpot to my MKIIB. Took me a couple hours, because I dropped my first attempt at the pcb, and rolled over it with my chair while trying to find it on the...
I want to do the cermet bias trimpot mod to my IIB, but I'm confused as to which 10k resistor is the correct one. I'm pretty sure that I have the correct area, but there are 2 - 10k resistors in close proximity. Can someone tell me which arrow in the photo below is the correct resistor that I...
Thanks for the info on the reverb.
Regarding the EQ, it works fine. I can adjust by moving the remaining bit sticking out the panel. I'm just looking to replace the slider for the appearances.
Not sure why, but I can't see the Schematic image
I recently ran across a great deal on a MKIIB with 100/60, EQ and Reverb which has been converted to a rack setup, and I'm loving it. Much simpler setup than my previous MKIV.
My first question has to do with the reverb. Since it's in a rack configuration, the reverb is not connected. I...

Regarding your initial question, I had a DC-3, and it was a great amp. I play mostly blues, jazz, and rock, and the DC series amps were great for those styles, though I'm guessing by all the responses, that the MKIII is a better choice for metal.
Does anyone have a schematic / drawing for the relay cable between the two stereo relay jacks on the G-System, and the footswitch jack on the Mark IV?
I'm using the Y-cable setup into the external jacks now (requires 4 cables), but the footswitch jack route would be a cleaner one cable setup...
I kinda like simplicity of the additional cable, but I wonder how they arrived at the 9 foot length? Why not 10ft?
Sort of off topic a liitle, but does anyone externally switch the Simul/Class A setting. I feel sort of hesitant to switch this setting too often. Maybe it's just me, but it...
