Mesa 2:90 Adjustable Depth Mod?

    - Do you mean just modding the presence pot value? A treble bleed circuit ? Or perhaps a push/pull pot? No, CTS (or other brands) makes dual concentric pots, think of the one used for the main level out on the Triaxis panel to have an idea. The two pots are built one over the other so they're...

    Mesa 2:90 Adjustable Depth Mod?

Hi everyone, I have a 2:90 power amp that pairs my Triaxis. While it's just great tone wise, it would be great having a global adjustable control for the deep mode, which is great with some Triaxis modes but not others. In fact, sometimes I found myself zeroing completely the bass setting on the...

Mesa 6L6 tube set - different heights

Thanks mate, it was actually the first time I noticed that difference, good to know anyway.

1x12" Cabinet Shell in Flame Maple

Hi guys, I am selling the cabinet shell of my 2004 Mark IV Rev. B, since I I always use my 4x12 cab. As you can see, it's a beautiful flame maple one, originally in teal finish, which eventually faded into natural finish. Approx. weight is 9kg. Photos of the cabinet can be seen at the following...

Mesa 6L6 tube set - different heights

Hi everyone and happy new year! I bought a new set (pair) of STR440 6L6 tubes few days ago and, while they work just fine, I noticed that one tube is slightly taller than the other, around 3-4 mm difference. Tubes are matched of course, with the same colour and number coding. Has anyone...

    Triaxis Membrane possibly available!

Guys, PM me if you are really interested in it, as I mentioned we need to be at least 20 to make an order.

    Triaxis Optocouplers, LDRs, Relays

No, according to the datasheets, it looks like LDR 27, 28, 29 are bypassed individually (they are dual output LDRs) and LDR 21 goes either open or grounded. Also, there is no track that completely bypasses the whole tone stack.

    Schematic Mesa Boogie Triaxis

If you have a look at this other thread: http://forum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=85104 you can find useful info about the position and function of each LDR on the boards. I also tried to contact the guy who posted that video and see if he had a copy of those schematics, with no luck, he...

    Triaxis Optocouplers, LDRs, Relays

Thanks for that, TX4 is much easier to figure out, since there are no stacked LDRs.

    Triaxis Optocouplers, LDRs, Relays

VTL5C4/2 has a total of five legs, two on one side, three on the other, whereas VTL5C9 has four legs only. Are you able to confirm that LDR19 has five legs? My unit is in the rack and photos I took don't show them

    Triaxis Optocouplers, LDRs, Relays

It would be great to have a copy of those schematics! The two LDR24 and 25 are further on the right side of the board, that is why you can't see them in the video. By the way I took a photo of them: DSC06819 by Luca Paltera, on Flickr[/img] You can see the trimmer for the dynamic voice...

    Triaxis Optocouplers, LDRs, Relays

According to the original schematic, if correct, LDR 27 and 28 are the ones for TREBLE. I uploaded few photos of the boards, one of them is the following: DSC06814 by Luca Paltera, on Flickr[/img] Of course I can change the diagram to include the correct positions if you can confirm that...

About to buy a (broken?) TriAxis. Help requested!

It sounds like a problem with one of the optocouplers, I doubt it's the mode button since it communicates with the digital logic of the machine only and not directly to the optocouplers. Using a midi foot controller would definitely help to locate which LDR is the culprit. I also suspect it's...

    Triaxis Membrane possibly available!

Price would be 250$ per piece. Unfortunately it's not just a matter of producing one (or 20), it requires a reverse engineering process, in order to get dimensions, layers, programming cutting machines, … in fact total price for having just one or 20 made is almost the same, for all those reasons.

    Triaxis Optocouplers, LDRs, Relays

Yeah I already went through the datasheets, as you can see, parameters are similar but not the same; that is the reason why I was asking if anyone already tried to replace the original Vactrol LDRs with one of those X-Vive ones. Just to specify, my Triaxis works perfectly and sounds awesome, my...

    Triaxis Optocouplers, LDRs, Relays

We have the same model, mine made in November 2001, but I removed the fat mod.

    Triaxis Membrane possibly available!

Hi everyone, as you might already know, replacement membranes (front panel) for Triaxis units have been discontinued since 2017 and Mesa factory no longer has them in stock. Same thing with the other place I found, Meinl.de and there is no plan/hope to have them available again. So I contacted...

    Triaxis Optocouplers, LDRs, Relays

Thanks Synrgy77, that helped. I suppose that LDR34 is under LDR14 at this stage (the third block from top left corner). Re the bottom left pair you mentioned, I guess you're talking about LDR18 and LDR19, which are part of the gain section. The Vactrol LDRs were made by Perkin Elmer, then by...

    Triaxis Optocouplers, LDRs, Relays

Hi everyone, I am trying to create a simple guide that can be useful to identify/test all the LDRs present on both the mainboard and TX4 board and, hopefully, find equivalent - still in production - components. All the info below come from having a look at my 2001 unit, SN: 7590. All the LDRs...
