Mesa 6L6 tube set - different heights

Hi everyone and happy new year!

I bought a new set (pair) of STR440 6L6 tubes few days ago and, while they work just fine, I noticed that one tube is slightly taller than the other, around 3-4 mm difference. Tubes are matched of course, with the same colour and number coding.

Has anyone noticed the same thing in other Mesa branded tube sets?

I’ve seen this with all brands of 6L6, EL34, 5881, etc tubes. Pretty much any power tube with a base on it.

Perfectly normal.

Thanks mate, it was actually the first time I noticed that difference, good to know anyway.
