What are your settings? Maybe the presence on the TriAxis is too high

I put my output level at 2.5. If I set it higher, then it would clip my effect pedal. The TriAxis is output is very loud above 2 anyway, it has a lot of volume.

The TriAxis will change to the default volume level that you previously set. For example: you are in preset 1, changed the volume via foot controller from 7 (default) to 5; you switched to preset 2 that has 6 (default) as volume, then you switched back to preset 1--TriAxis will use 7, instead...

The recto pre may not be able to achieve that sound, but I think that recto pre can mimick the sound with more clarity. Although that sound clip sounds "heavy," it also sounds a bit muddy. You can't really "taste," so to speak the crunch of the distortion.

Mmmmmm........ The most reviews on HC on VHT2502 indicate that it has more clarity than the 2:90 in general. How true do you find this to be? I have never tried a 2:90 with my TriAxis before, and I'm using EL34L and KT77 in my 2502. The 2:100 has tube rectifier, right? Thanks
