The MB store doesn't seem to sell 5Y3's anymore. I'm pretty sure it used to, I'm looking for a MB branded 5Y3 for my LSS. Any thoughts on where to get one?

Yep, it appears its one or more of the following: 1. Game over for the Mark series 2. The Mark V is for real 3. A new re-issue to replace the Mark I will happen I'm thinking it's #2, the Mark V is for real.

You need to update the firmware on your GMajor. The latest version has the kill dry feature in it. Here's a link to the TC page with the download and install instructions. http://www.tcelectronic.com/Default.asp?Id=12421

The outrageous part is how much I spent on it. :-) I'm glad I did though, the tone from it is great. I have a MK I reissue I play through the CAB as well. The tone difference from the maple CAB is more apparent with the MKI, but it's great with the DR as well. I actually like the clean...

FWIW... I just google'd on "mesa boogie matched el84" One of the hits was this thread that confirms that MB does not match their el84's. I'm thinking a matched set isn't a requirement when replacing tubes in the LSS. For sure not when running in 5 watt mode. :-)...

I've wondered about this myself. It appears to me that MB only sells el84's individually. For example, the pro net price list doesn't offer matched sets of el84's. All other power tubes MB uses in their amps are offered as matched sets. (The Web site does not mention offering matched el84's as...

Quick question about my LSS. (Love the amp by the way!) In between the first and second power tube, about an inch towards the front of the amp there's a black screw. On mine, I've noticed it's not screwed in all the way, it's about 2/3's of the way screwed in. The amp's working just fine, but...

I'm runnng 6V6's in mine. (Match group GRN, purchased from Mesa's online store) I usually run it in the 60 watt mode so I'm only using two of the valves, still plenty loud for my purposes. Lower wattage was the main reason for the swtich to 6V6's. I think the 6V6's mellow the distortion a bit...
