no they wont interchange, 84's are smaller and require a different bias.

i bought this guitar several months back, and it just does not sound good through my recto..thin and scratchy...all my other guitar sound fat and thick..i just dont know if i want to go through the pup change and have the same crap sound..anybody have this Experience with this model...

does the 2 channel rectos have the ldr issue?. mine sounds like mud and real weak volume wise only in vintage channel 2. the distortion sounds terrible in that mode only.

anybody who has not tried one of these owe's it to them selves to do so...a buddy brought his by the house today and i was friggen blown away..it was like a cross between a uberschall and a SLO... tons of tonal options and sustain for days...this is my next amp for sure...

anybody using the nova system? im looking at using one with my dual recto..which still has the parallel loop..just wondering if anybody has had any issues with it.

i bought a nitro without even playing one and i tried to like it but it was so sterile and stiff to play and the volume was so friggin lound it was almost unusable... it was wide a$$ open or off. it had a good tone but i felt like i was fighting it to play through it... this is just my opinion...

these are what i use but others may differ. leave your stock power tubes.. and use a sovtek 12ax7lps for v1 and v5 (phase inverter).. i get more clarity and crispness with those pre tubes. and i play anything from skynard to godsmack. :oops:

i have played recto's since they first came out..i have 3 at the moment. it took me a long time to get what i was looking for at low and high volume..as with others 2 o'clock is my sweet spot on the gain. but with loop by passed volume was an issue.. i keep loop active crank the master to 11 or...

i can relate to that, my job just went down the toilet.. i had an axe fx but had to sell it..sounded awesome when recording direct but could never get it to sound like i wanted using a power amp live.

if that rig was sold what are you using now?

i think the tungsol is a little hotter than the lps. but has a little fuzz on top strings to my ears..the lps is hard to beat for clarity. the ruby HG5+ IS a chinese 9th to my understanding that is graded for low noise and micrphonics. and it is just that, high gain and low noise. :D
