Fuse Question (Voltage Ratings US VS EU)

To deliver the same power the US amps in fact draw twice the current as european models, since power = voltage x current. That's all befor the transformer. After the ransformer all voltages and currents should be the same for both versions. So european models need lower rated fuses. The manual...

2:90 and two outs to one Cab

To answer on of you first questions: the main benefit of the stereo design - besides running 2 cabs - is, that you can use stere effects like stere echo,... I think that's wrong. I went to the Orange site... it has two connectors but looks like it's only mono. The other connector is for...

    Power requirements of 2:90

Power consumption can't be more (except for some very short time) than the voltage multiplied with the maximum current of the fuse (230V x 4A = 920 W for european models).

    Triaxis conversion 110v to 220V

Good point... I did some more reading: the phase difference of current and voltage plays a role, too. That's what induction can do. I still don't believe that switching from 60 to 50 Hz cause such big loss of power.

    Triaxis conversion 110v to 220V

Hi Steph! Sorry, that formula doesn't exist. The average Power doesn't depend on the frequency. The formula for the average Power is: P = 0,5*U^2/R (U is the maximum Voltage of the sinuswave and R resistance). The frequency vanishes somewhere in the integrals.

    Triaxis conversion 110v to 220V

I don't see that. Power is a function of voltage but not of frequency. On the others side I don't know what parts of the Triaxis rely on that 60 Hz-frequency. I really wonder why these step down transformers worked for so many others.

    Triaxis conversion 110v to 220V

That's a pitty the external transformer didn't work for you. I've read several times here in Germany about people using US-equipment with that kind of transformer and don't remember hearing of any problems. 2900 Euros sounds pretty expensive for an Triaxis... especially when it's from the US.

    Triaxis conversion 110v to 220V

Why just don't you buy a step-down-tranformer and leace the Triaxis as it is?

    power consumption mesa 20 /20

Check how much Ampere the fuse can take and mutiply it with the voltage. That's the maximum power consumption.

    Mesa fifty-fifty power amp

And I think it's wrong to use the 0,8 factor. AFAIK 220 V is the effective voltage not the maximum of the sinus-curve. Additionaly I want to say I'm no expert... so maybe I'm not 100 % sure if that's right. Also what comes to my mind: the fuse is a slow blow fuse. Maybe the amps can draw/need a...

    Mesa fifty-fifty power amp

Yeah, but the european version has most probably a 1,5 A fuse. Just take a look on the part of the amp where the fuse is. My 2:90 has 4 A just written next to the fuse holder.

    Mesa fifty-fifty power amp

Take a look at the fuse and multyply it's maximum current it can take with your voltage. For example my 2:90 runs at 230 V and has a 4 A fuse. That makes a maxiumum of 920 W. With that you shouldn't have any problems. The manual says for your amp thtat it has a 3A fuse at 120 V, so for your...

    Triaxis, 20/20, Cab(??)

As far as I know Metallica uses some sort of isolation cabs , called coffins, to mic their amps.
