    Buzzing Amp?

I don't use extension speakers so I could try that.I forgot to mention that there are two inputs 'High' and 'Low' and the Low is considerably worse when I plug in there. And like I said before it's like the amp is detecting delicate sounds from my guitar more than is used to,for example if I'm...

    Buzzing Amp?

I just examined all the jacks and there was no evidence of corrosion but I cleaned them anyway and the speaker still won't work. But like you said when both speakers came on when I plugged into the external jack,so I'm not sure what to do from here.

    Buzzing Amp?

Thanks for replying,I tried what you said with the external speaker jack. There were two jacks,on for left on one for right,so I tried the right because it was the right speaker is gone. Both speakers then produced a loud buzzing,is that normal?I'm a bit confused because the four speaker wires run...

    Buzzing Amp?

Hi everyone,I bought a second hand Vox advt digital amp about a year and a half ago,it's about 10 years old.It was working fine until recently when I noticed one speaker wasn't working.I switched speaker wires to check if it would work and it did,so that is a wiring issue, though I'm afraid to...

    Vox ADVT 120 foot controller?

I just got and ADVT 120 and can find hardly any information about them let alone a footswitch for sale.Anyone know of any other foot switches that might work?Maybe something from Line 6 as it's basically the same set up(4 channels, digital fx,and that computer cable type footswitch connection)?

Marshall JCM 2000 TSl fizzy distortion?

I talked to Marshall, they assured me this not how the amp should sound, they reckon it's either preamp tubes, output tubes,a dodgy capacitor or it needs to be re-biased.They reccomend I find someone in my area to service it because the nearest Marshall guy is too far away and they said it would...

Marshall JCM 2000 TSl fizzy distortion?

Another thing I noticed is that when I switch from crunch or lead to clean,my clean disappears for about 2 seconds before gaining volume again! And after about 10 minutes of play a buzzing starts in the amp which is most prominent in the clean channel. But I can't understand the logic behind...

Marshall JCM 2000 TSl fizzy distortion?

I have a Marshall JCM 2000 TSL and the clean and crunch is good but the lead is really fizzy no matter what I do with the knobs, not like any other amp I have.I use a strat so the sound isn't heavy but that's fine. It's this fizziness that gets to me.Could it be tubes?

    DC-5 for 1000 euros...worth the buy?

Well I tried a Mark V but couldn't get anywhere near the DC-5 tone. The DC-5 sound just blow me away whereas the Mark V seemed harsh and shrill.Though I reckon the Mark V clean had an edge. But it seemed to me like the DC-5 had more gain and everything, unless the Mark V I had was a dud.

Eric Johnson lead tone on the Mark V?

Anyone tried to get this smooth liquidy tone?Any idea for settings?I can't get it close, can almost get it exactly on the DC-5

    Connecting 2 amps together?

I have a Fener Twin Reverb and am soon to have a Mesa Boogie DC-5.An ideal set up for me would be to have the Fender clean and Mesa distortion in my set up.Is there any way of linking the two amps so as to use a single footswith to use one amps clean an another's distortion?

    DC-5 for 1000 euros...worth the buy?

Probably closer to 1500 US.I thought it was rather high too,but if you consider the cost of Mesa Boogie in Ireland. For example the Mark V retails at roughly 3800-4000 here. Not sure what the cost is in the U.S but I'm sure it works out cheaper than that?Is the DC-5 a worthwhile buy or would I be...

    DC-5 for 1000 euros...worth the buy?

I've been lookin for an amp and have tried a few Mesa's,but they didn't do it for me.I tried a DC-5 and thought it was the best distortion I have ever heard.I wasn't terribly sure about the clean, but then again I didn't have much time with it to experiment.I know a guy selling one for 1000...

    Trouble with channel 3

A bad tube was what I thought of first, then again I don't have any experience with tube amps, and I've tried the amp with single coils and humbuckers and humbuckers do make a difference but not much. The only thing is,after spending so much on this amp,I don't want to have to add to it to make it...

    Trouble with channel 3

I'll definately try that because I was planning on getting the cab anyway for gigs and such,do you have any ideas on what the lack of gain could be?

    Trouble with channel 3

I have the combo, with the gain set where it is in that picture it only manages to give me a classic rock sound for some reason,I've tried numerous guitars with near enough the same issue. The 'V' shape does add some balls to the sound, but without it it's incredibly thin and harsh even with the...

    Trouble with channel 3

I just bought the Mark V,unfortunately there are no Mesa dealers in my country so I could not try the amp before I bought it.So based on reviews and video reviews I thought it sounded great.I tried a DC-5 a while back and was amazed and hoped the Mark V would replicate those sounds. So far I...
