    Disapointed with the 5:50

This is another post I agree with whole heartedly. I owned or have used every Fender amp mentioned in this thread. The Express 5:50 competes with all these amps very favorably. In fact, with the way you're able to control the volume/tone on the Express, I think it beats a lot of the Fender amps...

    mesa bought by guitar center?

I have a great store that carries Mesa Boogie and their people are top notch. When I was trying to make up my mind on which Mesa amp I wanted, they delivered the LSS 112 and LSC 212 to my house and said call them when I make up my mind on which one I wanted. I went with the LSS and told them it...

    Disapointed with the 5:50

I couldn't agree more. After years of settling for less than I really wanted in music gear because of price, I finally woke up and started buying what I really wanted. Sometimes it took longer to pull the money together, but in the long run, I actually saved money. You seldom recover anywhere...

Lone Star Classic, Express 5:50 Comparison?

I'm going to order the PRS Johnny Hiland as soon as I figure out the color I want. I was told that it could take anywhere from six weeks to a year for it to come in. The LSC or Express 5:50 will not be an issue as far as finding one right away. I'm thinking about ordering the Violin Amber...

Lone Star Classic, Express 5:50 Comparison?

I'm also surprised I didn't end up with a 6L6 amp (Fenderish). When I was trying out both the LSC and LSS, I was having a hard time deciding. My American Deluxe Strat and Baja Tele were heavenly through the LSS but my Gretsch Nashville with the TV Jones HB's was missing the richness I was...

Lone Star Classic, Express 5:50 Comparison?

Bill, are you saying that at lower volume (at home), the LSC and Express 5:50 are close enough that I wouldn't miss any tone I would get from the LSC?

Lone Star Classic, Express 5:50 Comparison?

I'm a recent Lone Star Special owner converted from Fender. I absolutely love my LSS 410. Before I bought the LSS, I tried the LSC and LSS at home, side by side. The LSS won out, but not by a lot. So, my plans are to buy a LSC in the next year. I've been reading some great reviews on the Express...

    LSS and PRS Guitars????

I wasn't sure if I should post this here or under "Guitars". But, here goes. What PRS Guitar are you playing with the LSS? Is your PRS a good match for the PRS? I have the LSS 410. I'm looking at the different PRS Guitars and I'm very interested in the PRS Johnny Hiland Signature model. Check...

Lone Star Special 410 and a 112 Extensioin Cab?

I have the LSS 410 and was wondering how it would be with a 112 Extension Cab. In my own mind, it sounds like a good idea. What doa you think? I guess you would be able to also run the extension cab without the 410's in the LSS. Is this correct? I have also thought about going with a LSC head...

Using the LSS,410 for a cab?

I had a friend over today that asked me if it was possible to use My LSS 410 as a cab. and run another amp into it, like a LSC Head. I told him I didn't think so, but would ask. Is this possible? Res

"Better" clean sounds. 34s or 84s?

Reg, I went through the same thing not long ago. I was lucky enough to have a Mesa Dealer who had quit a few to choose from. The best part was, he let me take two home at a time to compare. I'm into the same music you are. I'm looking for great clean tone with a little overdrive and good...

Your Favorite Guitar With the Lone Star Special?

Not for playability, but for the tone you get with the Lone Star Special. Right now it's a toss up between the Baja Tele and American Deluxe Strat. I'd say the Baja has a very slight edge, but not much. I love single coil guitars with this amp. What's your favorite and why? Res 8)

Gibson LP Vintage Mahagony With A Lone Star Special?????

I thought about doing just that, but I'd have to find one that I could test drive at home. I'm not going to haul my LSS 410 to the store. Res

Gibson LP Vintage Mahagony With A Lone Star Special?????

I'm not familiar with the PU's you installed. Are they hot PU's? Can you describe the tone? Thanks, Res

Gibson LP Vintage Mahagony With A Lone Star Special?????

I have a chance to buy a Gibson Les Paul Vintage Mahogany at a very reasonable price and was wondering how it will sound with my LSS 410. It's a friend who lives 700 miles away so I can't try, before I buy. The only guitar I have with humbucker's right now is a Gretsch Nashville with TV Jones...

How Do You Position Your Amp (LSS 410) From The Wall?

Sorry, not at the present time anyway. I can tell you that the 410 version is my favorite. I got to do a side by side with the LSS 112. The 410 has a tighter bottom end. Humbucker's work better with the 410 also, but I didn't loose a thing with mt Strat and Tele. It's perfect IMHO. Call...

Lone Star Classic, Lone Star Special Comparison

Absolutely. On the bottom side, behind the "Slave Jack" is a 1/4" plug for a foot switch to turn the reverb on/off. I'm using a Roland FS-1. By the way, I received the LSS 410 yesterday. It replaced a LSS 112 that I had bought a couple weeks ago. the LSS 112 had an issue with the volume...

How Do You Position Your Amp (LSS 410) From The Wall?

So far, I'm finding the best tone when the LSS is not straight with the wall, but angled so the left side is about 14" and the right side is about 26" from the wall. the room size is 16'x13'. So it's sitting in the middle of the 13' side and angled toward, but not at the rear corner. I bet you...
