Thinking about a Road King II or a Roadster. COuple of ?s

Old lynch or new? I dislike his new tone as he embraced the Uberschall amp by Bogner. I liked his 80's tone much better when he was with Dokken. I think my tone is better than his with both my Bogner XTC101b and Road King 2. I am a tone freak, but unfortunately, much of the tone is subjective...

Thinking about a Road King II or a Roadster. COuple of ?s

As far as the voicing goes, that is a tough question. My voicings change on my RKII becuase I can make the same channel with the same settings sound very different by just changing the tube configurations. I believe that the Roadster does not support progressive linkage like the RK. So, my RKII...

    Changing tubes on Triple Recto

I'm pretty sure you can just replace the ones which need replacing. You do not need to replace all of the tubes (if there are still good ones left). I would recomment staying with Mesa tubes since they are matched and their amps are fixed bias. Other than that, there's really not much more to...

G-Major - Out of Sight - Out of Mind

I have owned a TC electronics G- major for a few years now, and it has resided in my DAW with other rack gear. Recently, I was very discouraged with my chorus and delay effects on my pedal board. I tried everything. I still is very unsatisfied with the type of effects I was getting. I decided...

New boogie user help with gt6 dual rect loop!!!!!!

I find it hard to believe that the Boss GT forums were of little help. there is over 4 years of posts and information which are searchable by keywords. How much time did you spend digging through information?

New boogie user help with gt6 dual rect loop!!!!!!

Please also keep in mind that the GT6 does not have a hard bypass. Using it this way WILL colour your tone. I noticed that you said the effects loop cououred the sound as well, so you may find it to be a toss-upj between the 2. Many people have used the 4-cable method, but this uses the POWER...

Okay.. TOTAL Noob post.. Please read, and advise...

That has its advantages. You often cannot tell by playing in a store what an amp can do for you until you get it home and have TIME to dedicate to it. That was a problem for me when I bought my Lonestar. I didn't like it for what I needed it to do and I did not know this until I brought it home...

Okay.. TOTAL Noob post.. Please read, and advise...

I played a Triaxis through a Stereo:One Hundred and I currently have a Road King. Both units are great! The Triaxis has more flexibilty with saving patches for recall as the Road King only has 4 channels. IMO - Channel 2 is a little shy of where I'd like it to be. I personally like the RK2...

Warming up your amp before playing....?

If I'm at practice - I'll leave it on for about 5 mins before flicking the switch. If it's a gig 15 - 20 minutes. I usually fire it up and let the tubes heat while I am still getting other stuff ready.

Vai For the love of god from an RKII anybody?

I have the EVO's too and I love them. Very responsive, smooth pickups. I have them in 2 JEMs and get a great tone from each guitar. THe RK2 seems to like them too. 8)

Vai For the love of god from an RKII anybody?

I think he uses some EQ as well in addition to the amp to get his tone.

5U4 Tube Question for RK2 Users

I'm not looking to have the new tube change the tone. Just tighten up the bottom end so they more closely resemble the DIODE setting. Apparently, these tube will help get out some of the flabbiness without changing the tone. 8)

5U4 Tube Question for RK2 Users

Or - Using the diode for the 6L6's and using the rect tube for the EL34. If that is the case the GZ34's WILL make a big difference in tone when using this power linkage.

Who used a THD Hot Plate

I have one and it is great. It allows you to crank the power tubes and get them "pushed" while controlling volume levels. On the other hand, I don't use it much anymore. It pretty much is in a milk crate with a bunch of other effects and stuff which I have accumulated over the years.

5U4 Tube Question for RK2 Users

Thanks so much for the feedback on the GZ34's. I just ordered some and am looking forward to putting them in but - Can anyone explain mny original point about why the 5U4 and Diode light are lit when selecting Diode Rectification? Thanks so much
