Dual Rectifier Solo Head vs. Roadster

I have just ordered a Dual Rectifier Solo Head. My only experience in the DR line is with the Roadster. Now, I understand, as the manual says, that the high gain channels are equivalent between the two amplifiers, and I see that aside from the fact that the Roadster has an extra low gain...

    Attack on a Roadster

I was getting killer attack, yet ample sustain with these lead settings: -Channel 4 -Diode -100 Watts -Bold -Vintage -Gain 1:30 -Treble 1:00 -Mid 10:30 -Bass 12:30 -Presence 1:30 -Master 11:00 These settings, with my JP7, is equivalent to John Petrucci's tone on Dream Theater's "Train Of...

    Open Back Cabinet with Roadster?

Just a query...the Roadster is capable of putting out 100 watts. The 1x12" is only 1 CV30 speaker, which is rated for 60 watts. How is that ok?

    Open Back Cabinet with Roadster?

I never tried it with my Roadster. But I used to try and acheive heavy distorted tones from my dad's old Fender Deluxe Reverb combo. I'm not sure if it was just because that amp was open back, or if there was much more to this reasoning...but there's no way it could ever sound as tight for...

    Mark IV Wide Body Combo

I have personally become quite fond of the Mark IV tones lately, and I'm strongly thinking of buying a brand new wide body combo. I have a few questions about it first. -This amp has a lot of push/pull pots...are they reliable? Do they break? Do they become crackly when adjusting after a...

Anyone use the Brit mode on your Roadster???

I don't use it. I find it sounds way too tinny, no matter what I do. I usually don't use channel 2 at all, but when I do, I use it as my pristine clean tone, and use Channel 1's Tweed setting.

Better roadster sounding with krank cabs?

Unfortuneately, they don't make a 4x12" Roadster cab (yet) but they make 1x12" and 2x12" Roadster cabinets. Let me just say that using 2 2x12" cabinets as opposed to 1 4x12" is much better in many ways. The 2 most important benefits are: less back pain, and a tighter sound. Enjoy.

    Roadster Leads

I'm glad you asked about the Score tone! To me, I think it is Mr. Petrucci's best tone ever (including studio tones) and that's saying a lot, because I've always thought that JP's tone could not possibly be beat by anyone, anytime. I had the extreme honour of meeting John on the 21st of March...

    TC Electronic G-Force vs G-Major

With the latest software release it allows intelligent pitch shifting???

    Stiletto and JCM 800

Yup, Mesa amps pretty much own all others!

    New models for 2008!!!

I voted yes, just because that's what I want to see, LoL. I LOVE the sound of the Mark IV, but I don't like using it, just because there's so many pull knobs and switches and stuff. I like my Roadster, and even the Road King, despite them both having a plethora of controls, but none of them...

Roadster wiped the floor with the Roadking!!

Yeah, to be honest with you, I went for the Roadster because I wanted John Petrucci's Train Of Thought tone, which he used a RK I on. But then looking into it, I didn't need 2 FX loops, I was only gonna have 1 cabinet, and I don't like the EL-34 sound. So, the choice was clear. Well, not...

    More clean headroom in Roadster

That's odd. Or maybe I'm just lucky. Whenever I play live with my Roadster, the clean sound is what I get the most compliments on.

    Roadster reverb surge (??)

Not having that problem with mine. The only thing that's questionable, reverb-wise about my amp...and I think this would happen with any tube amp with spring reverb...if the amp gets bounced around or shaken while it's on, you can hear the springs jiggling in the audiostream...but that also...

    TC Electronic G Major Question!

Ya, I'm only using the one to switch on channel 4, as channel 1 is the result with no relay switching connected. I have an Axess CFX4, but it's shorting out, or something. I programmed it nicely and such, but it wouldn't retain programming. It would work properly one time, but then it would...

    The Roadster...Best Amp EVER!!!

I just played a show on Saturday, this is big to me, being the 2nd ever with my new equipment (Roadster 2x12" combo and 2x12" extension, EBMM JP7 with piezos, TC G Major, Axess FX1) and it just completely killed everything else. I have convinced my Marshall crazy friend that Mesa is the way to...

TC Electronic G Major Control Question

Hey there folks, what I have is a fairly common setup. I have an Ernie Ball 6166 volume pedal, an Axess Electronics FX1 MIDI pedal, and a TC Electronic G Major FX Processor. I am having trouble using the 6166 as an expression pedal. I've hooked it into the FX1's EXP Pedal #1 Jack, and...

    Roadster 3rd Channel Pop Compromise

I've said it before, and I'll probably say it again, as much as that "pop" annoys me, I'm so so glad that it's a regular thing. I would hate that this only happens to my amp, especially considering that: I ordered it all custom (I got the 2x12" combo and the 2x12" extension cabinet, both...

    Roadster Cosmetic Question

Yup, mine are all 7:00 - 5:00. Maybe the knob guy that day was drunk. LoL.
