DR with THD hot plate question on ohms

I bought a used one for $200 off ebay and it works like a champ. I never use it below -8db because it sucks too much tone then. But for practice or small clubs you have to mic up with it works great.

    THD Hot Plate... which ohm?

You could get the 8ohm Hotplate but then you wouldnt be able to use it on the gfled in any other setting than 8ohm. I would get the weber but you have to almost double the watt rating for what your amp does. So if you have a 50watt amp you need a 100watt weber etc.. Atleast that is what I read...

Suggest a guitar with a FR or Kahler type tremolo

lol no kidding. Don't bash it unitl you've tried it. And as far as quality goes, I've been more impressed with guitars coming out of Japan over most anything that comes out of the USA.

    I have tone ADD

Anyone else suffer from this? I am constantly buying, selling, swaping, trading, etc... amps, pedals, guitars, etc... in search of "my" tone. It's like a disease....like...EJitis. So now I have decided to sell off all my stomboxes (they are all BOSS anyways) since I never used or liked many of...

Just got back from my Mesa Dealer talking abotu the Mark IV

That's the weird thing is this guy owns a small shop and carries only high end stuff in there. He only carries tube amps and high end guitars. My guess is he just hasn't spent much time with the Mesa's since he openly says he loves Marshalls.

Just got back from my Mesa Dealer talking abotu the Mark IV

Just got back from my Mesa Dealer talking abotu the Mark IV

He said the Mark IV was not good for metal but was better for blues and jazz, he said if I wanted a metal sound the Road King would be better for me. I told him I have the Dual Rect and I dont really dig it's tone and he said the RK doesnt sound like the DR. Is any of this true? He told me to...

    I need amp advice

I could care less what amps they play, I was just pointing out that the Metal styles my band plays is along the lines of Metallica (Black - Load era). I guess some would call that Heavy Rock and not metal so I just wanted to calrify 8) Which is more versatile, the Road King or the Mark IV?

    Question about attenuators

Hey I got a Mesa DR and I'm looking for an attenuator. I've researched some liek the THD HotPlate but my question is more or less about the other ones like Weber. Is it true you need a 200w attenuator for a 100w amp? Why is that I just dont understand. Also what are some good attenuators out...

How Much Better Does It Really Make You?

From my experience there are too many things that can effect your tone live, so I say get good stuff, but unless your a tone freak like EJ dont worry about the "pro" stuff unless you can afford it. The "pro" stuff is for the studio, live you can screw up and the crowd probably wont even notice...
