Input 1 & 2 Footswitch for an Original Mark 1

    So the Mesa/Boogie is a simple ... nothing special ... A/B box?

Input 1 & 2 Footswitch for an Original Mark 1

the LS-2 is on it's way via UPS ... let you know tomorrow ... if anyone's interested. :D

Input 1 & 2 Footswitch for an Original Mark 1

I just ordered the LS-2 from Musicians Supply last night. I guess I didn't think about the Mesa version. You are correct ... they still sell it Mesa Box cheaper than the LS-2 box. Anyone know either ... ... if the wiring is different on a Boss LS-2 and the Mesa Box? ... whether the LS-2...

Input 1 & 2 Footswitch for an Original Mark 1

I found my answer on the Mesa/Boogie website ... the Mark I "Reissue" manual is almost word for word from the instructions I have from '78 (including the volume drop). But the new instructions specifically mention the A/B box on page 2. :D http://www.mesaboogie.com/manuals/Mark1%20Reissue.pdf

Input 1 & 2 Footswitch for an Original Mark 1

That's what I was thinking ... I don't have an A/B box ... was considering Boss LS-2. If I hook up both cables without the A/B switch only the 2nd input functions. I'm curious if there is anything special about the old Mesa box (the one I could have bought back in '78 ) that is different from...

Input 1 & 2 Footswitch for an Original Mark 1

gtr----------------------> input 1 (like I've been playing) OR gtr---------TS9--------> input 2 Both would be overdriven. The input 1 has all of the pre-amps cascading. The input 2 has all but the V1 preamp stage and instead has the TS9 (kinda like an old Fender bassman with a TS9)...

Input 1 & 2 Footswitch for an Original Mark 1

No ... I was just looking at my original instructions from '78 this weekend and it described running two leads (one to input 1 and one to input 2). The input 2 lead skipped the first pre-amp tube and it warned the "clean tone" would be much less volume ... which it is. My idea is to put a TS9...

Input 1 & 2 Footswitch for an Original Mark 1

I have never used the input 2 and never had the footswitch. I have an idea to use the 2nd input with a TS9 on the 2nd input for another sound option. But I need to understand how that switch was set up.

Mark I - Reverb in the "Loop"

Just call Mesa or write them an email? Contact numbers on their site? How long does it take door-to-door?

Mark I - Reverb in the "Loop"

I have an original Mark I and would like to add reverb to it without rewiring the amp. I did not opt for reverb option back in '78 when I bought it. I don't want to use a digital reverb on the front end ... I think they sound muddy when run through the Boogie's preamp. Could I use one of...

    www.bandmix.com?

Anybody ever used http://www.bandmix.com to locate musicians in their area? I've placed some covers and originals on my soundclick site (in my signature) and referenced it on the bandmix site. Wondering if any good musicians in my area will pick up on the post. Missing playing live ... spent...

    Mark One Anvil case

Good luck Jakeddy ... I'll bow out now since you guys are just having fun. But the solution I mentioned was affordable and put my anvil case back in action. My'78 Boogie is traveling in style again. Hope it helps. :D

    Mark One Anvil case

I wanted closed cell foam and had a bit harder time finding it. You can order it in 1" but it was more expensive. If you just want to use regular foam, it's pretty much everywhere.

    Mark One Anvil case

I have a Anvil case for my '78 Mesa/Boogie Mark head. Got the same story after mine dry rotted. I found 1/2" thick blue closed cell foam sheets at Wal-mart (used for camping), a razor knife and straight edge and 3M adhesive at Home Depot. I had to cut two 1/2" sheets and laminate them...

    G&L Legacy thru '78 Boogie (TS9 at 1:40)

I love the guitar. Did some shielding work this weekend ... now the 1-3-5 settings are quiet enough (less noise) to record ... I will post more tunes with this guitar along the way. Glad you guys gave it a listen. :D

    G&L Legacy thru '78 Boogie (TS9 at 1:40)

Better Off With The Blues This is the G&L straight into the Boogie ... except the lead clip at 1:40 that has the TS9 added. What do you think of either tone? :D Here's the guitar ...

    Boogie Mark I

16 OHM will run lower and cooler ... I believe that's true. I have an EVM12L and it is indestructible ... they are very loud and don't really "break up". If you like the speaker to break up, the EVM12L may not be what you are looking for ... but I like mine. I bought it new and built the...

    Boogie Mark I

I generally run mine on the 60W setting ... sometimes 100W when I play on a stage ... either way I generally don't push it over 2 on the master volume and I mic the amp. Congrats on the new MK1 ... :D
