Stiletto 212 vs. Recto 212 CAB

I'm in Canadia.. I'm not sure if my band had enough U.S. dates to interest them.. Though we must have had at least 15-20 for the U.S. I'm going to order a cab from the factory this week, not sure whether to start with the Stiletto, or the 112.. Will probably end up with both, lol

Stiletto 212 vs. Recto 212 CAB

Bing! Are you endorsing Mesa? I've tried to talk to artist relations, with no success so far.. Wish I lived in the U.S. I'm interested in what your 112 front ported cab will sound like.. Look forward to a review of some sort!

Stiletto 212 vs. Recto 212 CAB

K, it just seemed like you were trying to claim that they didn't exist. Apologies

Stiletto 212 vs. Recto 212 CAB

No, i think you're being a dweeb, because I have one sitting in my room with casters, have a buddy 5 minutes away who has one with casters, and have seen many in stores. I'm not sure whether you're trying to argue whether they don't exist, or if they are custom, but I have only ever seen them...

Stiletto 212 vs. Recto 212 CAB

there is no debate here, they have casters, or at least have since 2008-- so unless they have discontinued them for 2010, they still come with them.. lets get back to the topic!

Found a way to fix the harsh treble.

*face palm* what ever happened to dialing your tone in for with the speakers pointing at a relevant target.. how about... your ears?? or a mic ?? i know i'll get flamed for this, but i don't know how someone can own a mesa boogie amp, and not know the basis for dialing in a tone

Stiletto 212 vs. Recto 212 CAB

Unless they have changed it for 2010, thats only the photo. The past X amount of years, they've been a standard on them

Stiletto 212 vs. Recto 212 CAB

Okay, I A/B'd the Recto 412 and Stiletto 412 today with an electradyne.. The Stiletto cab wins, hands down-- for what I'm looking for.. More mids, smoother top end, tighter low end, lots of bass to spare.. The Recto cab would be better for someone who likes more of a scooped tone, with a sizzly...

    Hey guys! Has anyone here...

edge mode is very scooped.. i think all of the MKV's have a lot of bass on that channel

Stiletto 212 vs. Recto 212 CAB

I think I like the twin v30's.. Its just the cabinet-- the orange is so much smoother.. Definitely looked at everything though! I'll just have to wait and talk to boogie, and see what they advise i try

New Boogie and Mark V user...

A lot of the saturation comes from the mids :!: i would suggest cranking the mids, and using the graphic EQ to get what you want for a curve.. the treble also adds a great deal of saturation.. there are pics of petruccis settings up on this forum

Stiletto 212 vs. Recto 212 CAB

yeah, not diggin the recto.. it is definitely scooped, and has an added top end sizzle, that is not so great for lead.. the orange definitely sounds WAY bigger, thicker, smoother.. i'm going to call boogie and talk to them about the tonal differences between cabinets, and inquire about a...
