I have a RKII but I just picked up a used Mark III. Now I have the best of both worlds. That may be another option if you want to spend the extra bucks.

Just because the heater doesnt glow doesnt mean it isnt working. Some tubes are like that. Best thing to do is replace them one at a time. If V1 is bad the amp wont work at all. For reverb, look at V4 I believe.

You may have a bad pre-amp tube. Start there first.

Could someone describe the difference in tone between a RKII and a Mark IV. I do love my RKII but I feel some tones are missing.

Three months for my RKII. Even longer for the matching 2 X 12 cab.

Is anyone getting Mark IV sounds from a Road King?
