Try switching your Air Norton to the Neck position and get a Dimarzio Tone Zone Single Coil for the bridge. That's what I'm using in one of my strats and I think it sounds great thru my Mark V.

I haven't heard a Lonestar in person so I can't give you real advice, but if you want the most versatile amp I have ever played, the Mark V is the way to go because it can go from crystal clear clean to ultra dirty piss off the neighbors distortion loudness...I imagine either is great depending...

What about D Mustaine's tones? Peace Sells, Countdown to Extinction, etc...Are we all too Metalli-heads to admit that Megadeth had some good tones? For him to be able to sing, remember the words, and pull off those riffs at the same time is pretty impressive...no matter what you think of him...
