What should I buy Triaxis or MK IV ??

No offense, but one would think that if you owned it, you would know it's "Triaxis" and not "Tri Axes"

List all of the artist and bands that use Mark series amps!

I'm trying to get a list together. If you list an artist and they are in a band, then please list the band also. Listing the model of amp would be great if you know it. This is for ALL of the Mark series. List away!

Need help with my MK IV

Yep you need a new set of power tubes and replace the fuse. For the power tubes, get a set of SED 6L6's...the one with the "Winged C" logo. Thank me later ;)

Just arrived - Mark IV Compact Combo

Ibanez...WTF are you talking about? The power tubes should be a matched set if they are all 6L6's.

How do I get a "brown" sound?

I don't know if you realize how crazy it sounds to ask how to get the Brown sound (the epitome of Marshall tone) on a Mesa Dual Recto (the polar opposite of a Marshall). Brown sound = cranked Marshall Plexi. You aren't getting that sound on a Dual Recto.

    NOOB MARK IV OWNER

Wow...your FIRST tube amp is a Mark IV!?! You're really lucky...it will probably save you a lot of money. I went through tens of thousands of dollars worth of amps before I learned what makes good tone and where to find it. I now have settled on a Mark IV and I love it. You have quite a head...

    A new Mark IV clip!

It's really easy to dial the Mark IV once you have it for about a week. Mine is pretty much dialed and left, though I tweak the graphic EQ from time to time. I started from some settings on the Grailtone setting database and went from there. It took me a few weeks of owning it to come to the...

    A new Mark IV clip!

It's "End of Heartache" by Killswitch Engage.

    A new Mark IV clip!

Setup was as follows: LTD EC-1000 with Dimarzio MegaDrive in the bridge and Humbucker from Hell in the neck. Of course only the bridge was used here. That goes straight into the MKIV. No pedals are in use here. Mic is a single sm57 on the 2x12 Recto cab with V30's. Mic was off axis about half...

    A new Mark IV clip!

That box is just a little box I found that has two compartments. I store extra tubes on the bottom and picks and things in the top. The boogie label is just a sticker I put on it. :D

    A new Mark IV clip!

The blue box is a Guyatone MD-3 delay (that and the POD aren't in use at all here). BTW if you want a great delay for around $100, check the MD-3 out...it's amazing sounding.

    A new Mark IV clip!

This is pretty much my third ever mic'ed up recording. I'm getting better though. Mark IV > SM57 > Audiobuddy Preamp > Cubase SX3. Enjoy and lemme know what you think. OK click the link, then click the + to the right side of the file name to download it. I think it sounds best that way...

Wow! So I just bought another Mesa, this time a Mark IV

All I can say is I hope that your amp is there when you go to pick it up. This whole deal sounds REALLY shady and personally I wouldn't have paid. If you are going to pick it up, why didn't you wait until you saw them in person and just pay in cash after you see the amp?

Changed the tubes on my '90 Mark IV...

The Mark IV has enough gain. JJ's are crap IMO.

Mark IV B with ground switch?

Ok I have all three of the things you mentioned. There is also a plug thing on the left side of the back that looks like a regular 120 volt outlet. What is that? An extra outlet for plugging effects into?

Mark IV B with ground switch?

I recently bought a Mark IV. It has the stereo loop with the triangular layout. This means it is a B version, correct? One thing I noticed is it has the ground switch on the back. Does that mean it isn't a B, or did some B's have the ground switch? If it has the triangular stereo loop, can I be...

New member of the Mesa family!!!

I've had a bias modded 5150 for over 5 years now, and recently sold it for a Mark IV (B version) and 2x12 recto cab. It should be here tomorrow or Friday, and I'm REALLY excited about it. My question is this: When I fire it up for the first time, I want to hit a big open high gain chord and...
