I was looking at Furman power conditioners, and boy are there a lot of options! So what do I really need in a power conditioner? I was looking at the Furman M-8DX. Any experience with this one? Please, someone chime in as to what I should be looking for in one of these.

I like the manual suggested "hot solo liquid lead" for my lead tones. It sounds very good -- of course, boosted sounds better. I also like a compressor with this setting, unboosted, using the solo switch. Sounds very Mark series, but not quite as liquidy. The Roadster can do a lot for you...

Do Furmans help that much? It happens with the humbucker, which is surprising. So, radio interference is maybe what is causing all of this. I do have my laptop near it, but unplugged. Could that still cause it? Also, I do notice that my 50" TV causes a strange insect sound in the amp, but...

Try this is you can. I used to turn up my output to 2 o'clock, then tweak the individual channel's master volume for bedroom playing -- this way I could get some good crunchy tube distortion at low volumes for home playing. Anyways, I have not done that with my Roadster in quite some time...

Just made the switch to EL34s last week. Aside from the clear loss of my nice, "cut through the mix" cleans, the gain channels all improved by a large margin. The amp is a lot smoother now, and less bass heavy. Still a boomy as hell Roadster though.

How heavy is the combo? The Mark footprint is a lot smaller than the Roadster footprint, right? The Roadster head is a beast to lug around. I am pretty sure that the Mark comes with the caster slide things on the bottom, no?
