Should I grab the .50 caliber

I recently found a .50 caliber head for 500, EL84s, no graphic eq. I was wondering if I should sell off my classic 30 for this (which also has el84s). Thing is, I'm more of a british tone guy, and mesas are notoriously american. How tight does it sound? Does it have recto flabbiness? Would the...

I just really kind of need to keep it under 1000... the mark 3 sounds preety nice, can it do really hi-gain tone though?

    My first "Pro" amp

I'm not too keen on the dual calibers (a little less gain than i want and they are hard to find). If i got the recto would probably boost em a tiny bit with a fulltone OCD pedal just to get that extra tightness. Alot of people have also told me to go with the Mark IV, but it just doesnt sound...

    My first "Pro" amp

I'm stuck deciding between the Rectoverb combo, or the ENGL Thunder Reverb Combo. I'm in a "bluesmetal" band and I'm playing both classic rock style stuff (SRV, Hendrix, ZZ TOP) and Thrash/NWOBHM stuff (Megadeth, Motorhead, Judas Priest). I opt not to get a stack... and I like the versatility...

    Adding Effects...Processor vs. Pedals?

I'm a pedal junkie, I'll admit it. Pure Analog tone is all that does it for me, and tc, although they put out some good units, I still am anti-digital and all. Grab an Analogman CompROSSer and an EHX Small Clone. I stick buy the time and tired, Quality over Quantity. The G-Major can do alot of...

    OD pedal comparision

The Fulltone OCD is apparantly an amazing pedal. If you want a solo boost, however, I reccomend Xotic pedals. They are AMAZING for boosting.

    Zakk Wylde Crybaby

A wah pedal, is simaliar to a tone knob, however it has a much wider sweep. When you put it all the way up, it boosts the treble. The fact that it is distorting, is not good, I don't think wahs are supposed to do that. I suggest looking into a Vox wah, they sound X1000s of times better than the...
