+1 The DC-5 is smoother to me. You can't go wrong with either, but if you wan't that dark, smooth tone go with the DC. The .50 Caliber + is more raw to me.

Should be a 1M-ohm Push-Pull pot. Personally, I'd call up Mesa and see if they have replacements.

The + model should definitely be A/B...

If you're using LEDs you'd have to get a lowered voltage from the PT somewhere (switching maybe?), rectify it and then use that. Unless you have a usable place to get that voltage from you'd need another transformer or something and it gets complicated fast.

How old is that? I bought mine last year or so and noticed the volume drop. I checked out some mods online and the resistor I was going to change the value to bump up the volume was a trimpot. I don't have the pedal here and won't get it for a couple months or so for pictures but it's there...

Here's mine. I made it a couple of weeks ago.

I use my boss in the loop, after the noise gate. I used it in front when I noticed a volume drop when it was on, but switched it to the loop after I found there was a trimpot inside to adjust the output volume of the pedal! Use your ears, you should use whatever sounds better to you.

Seeing that the Dual Rectifier is a high-gain amp which gets most of the distortion from the preamp would it even be beneficial to use an attenuator?
