    Thiele speaker swap

Recently have done the swap. The Thiele is front loaded and using the existing screws worked fine. IIRC there was only 4 for the C-90 and these were simple wood screws into the plywood. The EVM is certainly heavier and I thought of using additional screws but it seems to be fine with the 4. No...

Lights and sound cut in and out today for 5 seconds while playing.

Just one suggestion... 1st check the fuse. Then pull the Rect tube and set all of the chans power to 90W, chan gains/masters and global master to 0 and see if it powers back up in Standby. If it's stable, while still in Standby manipulate all of the footswitch selections and see if they switch...

    CabClone IR+ 8ohm to a 16ohm cab

the Mesa Cabclone IR+ manual states the following. "The internal load is defeated automatically when a cable is connected to the ¼" TO SPKR Output. Make sure you choose the proper impedance CabClone IR+, as they are built specifically for 4, 8 (most common) or 16 Ohm applications." So this...

A Live JP2C Implementation... Any Others?

For the Mesa gear nerds... Ok this is the JP2C sub forum and no I do not have a JP2C  but do have something similar... a IIC+ HR. Amazing amp. Gigged it live for many years but it had always been a bit of a compromise to cover a wide range of musical genres. So a while ago went looking...

So I just called Mesa/Boogie Customer Support about modding my Studio Preamp

I have found MikeB to be honest, practical and a straight up guy who wants the customer to be happy. If he doesn't think a certain mod is a going to work well he'll steer away from it.

New guy here with possible mark 2 c +

Yea the IIC was not the same animal... I remember MikeB asking me "do you want to do this + upgrade? The amp will sound much different" well indeed Ch 2 certainly did. But Ch 1 remained pretty much the same. Personally I think Ch 1 is very underrated its response to pedals is quite unique. How...

New guy here with possible mark 2 c +

oh yea I've had to down size the pics to get them smaller in order to post on the website. Oh man bummer about the III. I sold my heavily modified Super Lead and ordered a IIC only to find out a month later they started to make the "+" and they never offered me an upgrade. :( years later I...

New guy here with possible mark 2 c +

Yea, Mike B is the man. Yea those prices have gone up, like everything else, but IMHO that is well worth it and it will be solid for years to come. Have any pics to share? :)

    Mark V or VII

From my understanding the presence circuit is not a simple one on the V. Each chan has it's own circuit variation of presence. FWIW the Resonance/Depth mod I added to the Stiletto made a world of difference. That amp needed more bottom end and that upgrade was pretty cool. It was a simple mod...

Best pedals in front of a Lonestar 2x12?

Just one opinion... if you have a preamp model in the FM3 that provides you with the familiar JCM800/Plexi tone then I would use that into the FX return. Going with an OD to get you to the same tone is a crapshoot without experimentation. The LS is a great pedal platform, lots of head room but...

    Mark V or VII

Welcome... just one Mesa player's opinion. Full disclosure 1st... I am a V:90 and Badlander fanboy. While I don't own the VII (wish I did), I will speculate a bit based on the Badlander experience, which was the design predecessor. Mesa does leverage their designs. If the cost didn't matter...

Mark series amps lead tone comparisons criticism: can we really?

Yea the IIC+ certainly has something special, over the years I've tried to put my finger on it but maybe it is the 3D effect that sets it apart. I feel the III has many of the same attributes just a bit different gain voicing depending on the stripe. I do find the GEQ just opens up the tonal...

    Multiple amps / cabs Switch

FWIW I did my own. It's not like it's better then the available market solutions but it actually does work well and has become the heart of my studio. It supports 3 amps but TBH really don't find the need for additional amps even though the thought of doing more was cool initially. It's...

I FOUND IT AFTER ALL THESE YEARS OF SEARCHING!! My Mark V 90W Settings.

Yea I find 750hz is really sensitive and there's this point like 2/3 down where it really can drop out.

More Mark 2c+ vs Mark III vs 50 Caliber+ questions/commentary

Congrats and that's a solid choice IMHO. Let us know how it works out live.

I FOUND IT AFTER ALL THESE YEARS OF SEARCHING!! My Mark V 90W Settings.

Yea I concur especially with the live points made. I've learned the hard way getting lost in the live mix. Still use the EQ on the V but it is setup differently if I'm recording vs live with the band. The point about presence and 6k slider is also a good one.
