I saw them a few months back and they totally rocked the house! Sounded great, high energy and played awesome. There were some combo amps center of the stage but they were used by the opening bands. Have fun!

From what I understand, horizontal row of #s represent the setting of the Mark IIC+, Mark IV maybe on the AJFA notes, circled means the knobs are pulled out. Volume=9.5, treble=7, bass=2, middle=4, master=4, lead drive=5, lead master=3.5, and presence=4.5, which is on the back of the amp. I...

If any of you are interested here is Flemming Rasmussen's studio notes for the MOP and JFA albums. Some of the notes share the graphic EQ settings as well as board EQ's, mics etc... I hope some of you dig it and find it useful. http://web.me.com/fwrproduktion/FWR_Produktion/Notes_1.html

    Pentode to triode...

I'm confused by what you mean by "true metal". Mark Series amps have been used by metal bands from Metallica to Lamb of God. Not sure what you're getting at. Are you asking can channel 2 do metal? If so I guess that would again depend on what your definition of metal is. I can get some decent...

    Delay suggestions.....

Kinda of in the same boat. Been using my DD-2 for many, many years now. I am currently looking at the Malekko 616. http://www.malekkoheavyindustry.com/index.php/ekko Basically the same price as the carbon copy but has the added addition of the modulation controls being external vs internal as...

    Nothing wrong with that. :D

Anyone using an OD with their MV?

Sold my Keeley TS-9 like a dope, sounded awesome pushing the clean channel of my F50. Currently using a Boss BD-2 for boost on the clean channel of the Mark V. Have a Timmy ordered and should be here sometime in January to hopefully replace the Boss.

My second problem with Mark V head

A power conditioner protects against spikes, a surge protector if you will. A voltage regulator makes sure your gear has a stable and steady 120 or 240 volts, depending on where you live. A good UPS will do both. You do not necessarily need to stick with Furman. They do make great stuff but...

My second problem with Mark V head

Whatever you decide to buy just make sure that it has a voltage regulator that guards against brown outs (voltage drops). I see your already looking at the Furman I just thought I would bring it up because you also mentioned UPS. Not all UPS's have voltage regulators in them. Personally I think...

I dig that cream/white color. Really sharp.

    which compressor?

Another vote for the Barber Tone Press. Got is a couple of months ago and it has yet to leave my board. Does exactly what it claims. It is almost always on when I use my clean channel.

Should I get my Mark V signed???

Yeah why not! If you can safely get it there and back then I say go for it!

Are MK V Combo and Head Voiced the Same?

+1 Get that cab off the casters and onto the floor. :D

    Overdrive

I have an overdrive that I use on the clean channel. Like 'cuda above said it's like having a 4th channel. I can go from clean to just breaking up without having to actually change channels or flip to tweed mode. But yeah I agree with you on the tightness of the amp already out of the box. Can't...

NAD: Mark V head arrives today!

Congrats on your new amp! Had mine for a couple of months now and I still love as much as when I first got it.

Looking to buy a Mark V - need opinions

And just to add, you can choose tube or solid state rectifier in 45w mode. 90w is solid state and, correct me if I'm wrong someone, 10w is tube.

Which Tubescreamer to get? What about Analogman?

Had a TS-9 modded by Keeley that I used to use with my F-50 but sold it. Stupid, stupid. Really liked that pedal. Have a Boss Blues Driver that is ok. Thinking of having Keeley mod that one as well. Have a Timmy on order but won't get it until hopefully January. Can't comment on it...

Love and hate go hand in hand...

I have had this with every tube amp I have owned. Some nights it sounds great. Next night same settings, same guitar, same space, bleh. I don't know if it has to do with mood, ears or something I ate. :D For me it hasn't just been with the Mark V.

    Upgrade from F-Series

I upgraded from an F50 to the Mark V. Never looked back. Clean channels is on par if not better. I was never happy with 2nd channel on the F50. Especially in contour mode. Way too flubby. The Mark is nice and tight. YMMV.
