OD pedal for high gain metal crunch w/Roadster

I've tried the Maxon 808, the Ibanez ts9tdx and I've just bought a Bad Monkey. I never had the change to compare them all. The first one was the Maxon and the the ts9. Now that I have my cheap Bad Monkey I don't really miss neither the Maxon or the ts9. I guess that the 3 are very similar...

    EQ Pedal or rack unit?

Thanks t0aj15 I know people on the forum really like this one and it sure influences me positively. I want to know more opinions on these one and rack units. Between the MXR and other stompboxes I believe the MXR beats them all, so I think the discussion will be MXR vs Rack EQ's. Go on... :)

    EQ Pedal or rack unit?

Hi guys I'm trying to improve my tone with my Roadster. I'll get a Boss sd-1 or a Bad Monkley for tightening my leads and I'm searching for an EQ too. First of all, I never used EQ's before, so I confess I'm really a noob at it. But I've been reading and talking a lot about it and it seems...

Roadster - Need more compression - Help

Hi rectifier I'm sure they do, but it's not that easy and cheap to send my amp from Portugal to NY. For the same amount there are another options, like sell the Roadster and get another amp. But I already said that this one is not easy as well, here. However I had already seen their site and I...

Roadster - Need more compression - Help

Thanks I've already checked many videos, article and posts in forums. But it's never too much. I'm more interested in seing pedals pushing the amp because that's how I intend to use it. I may try a Bad Monkey and a ZW-44 soon. I'm more keen to the Bad Monkey, but I'll have to try them. You...

Roadster - Need more compression - Help

Thanks very much Blaklynx I've been playing for the last 15 years and I think I have a great technique and some skills as a composer. I'm also teaching guitar and theory in a music school. I'm in a Progressive Rock/Metal band, just starting, and I'm also working in a solo project. The sounds...

Roadster - Need more compression - Help

Thanks Blaklynx I investigated a little and it seems that the pedal is no longer released by Zoom, right? What OD's do you use and think fit better with your Rectifier? What do you think about the Digitech Bad Monkey? Still waiting opinions on this one :)

Roadster - Need more compression - Help

I need more than that. The great for its price is important but is not the most important. I read this in a blog: "Bad Monkey Vs Tubescreamer The BM is a far better pedal if you are after just boosting the amp. Basically using it as a clean boost (dime the level and zero out the gain for...

Roadster - Need more compression - Help

I guess this Keeley must be fine for what I want. However, some people have been talking a lot about another pedal and its function on tightning the lead channels: the Bad Monkey. What can you tell me about this one? They say it's great with Rectifiers. I know its a cheap pedal but there are...

Roadster - Need more compression - Help

Thanks It's already for sale, but here in Portugal the Mesa amps are very expensive, so it's hard to sell. It's hard to try pedals too. And I guess that is no way to get a keeley in a store here. But I'll try as much as I can. If I can find one that suits me then I'll be an happy man :)

Roadster - Need more compression - Help

He doesn't use compressor for leads (there's a video in which he says it). I've tried all the ways without any pedal and it seems impossible. So do we all agree that an overdrive should help for my case? Fast leads, fast pick attack and tight leads?

Roadster - Need more compression - Help

Don't be sorry. Its just that I believe that sometimes I may not express myself correctly and I thought that what you said could be honestly aplied to me. I guess my english is only fine and in what concerns to this issue it's really difficult to me to differentiate between...

Roadster - Need more compression - Help

Thanks boogiewoogie, that's very right what you say, that's the point and I know that. That's a feature of the amp and it really exposes my playing. But the BB Preamp helps dealing with that or is just for another flavor? Ok b0nkersx, I've been waiting for that argument. And no, I won't blame...

Roadster - Need more compression - Help

I know that. I guess we are missing the question here. He DID used the RoadKing, no doubt at all. And he had great tones. But he also uses a lot of effects and pedals and I remember seeing some overdrive pedals in the back of his rack. So my question is if his tone with the rectifier, namely the...

Roadster - Need more compression - Help

I understand, I bought a Roadster and not a MArk V. I jus want to get close to that. But, for example, I know that Petrucci uses overdrives in the front of the amps and I bet he did it for the "train of Thought" album. At least for the solos. Now, I'll try the compressor in front as soon as I...

Roadster - Need more compression - Help

Thanks guys, you're helping me a lot. I have to go to bed now, since it's 00h15 here in Portugal. But please continue the discussion around this. I want to hear more opinions from you all. I'll check it and comment in the morning. Thanks

Roadster - Need more compression - Help

Ok... but what if it was only the Rectifier? Doesn't the TS-9 make a big difference? In terms of compression?

Roadster - Need more compression - Help

KH Guitar Freak, the thing is that both amps have great lead tones. But for something more "shred" the Roadster is harder to deal with. I feel "stucked", the notes are so apart from each others... lack of compression. I agree with you that the rectifiers have really nice tones too, except for...

Roadster - Need more compression - Help

Blaklynx Thanks for your opinion. Running one pedal is already something that I wouldn't want. Two or more is out of question. But I'll check that MI. TimeSignature I agree with you 100%. I know I'll have to use an overdrive like you said. And yes, I should go with a Mark IV or V. But here...
