I have found some really good high gain rhythm sounds with my roadsters channel 4, but it needs some extra punch in it, it`s not quite there, yknow? Its not gain or fizz i want more but to make it tighter, more attacky, metal sound
I´ve read here that with a good OD pedal things can open up?

There was a ibanez TS9 at a local small dealer, and i will go and try it with their DR, but i am also interested about BB preamp, Fulltone OCD, Ibanez TS-808. Ok, these are little more expensive than TS9, but are they really so much better?

Age old question, sorry about that, but thats what these forums are about :D

i would now, suggest something that is off your chart....

the Fulltone Fullboost III

just WAY MORE of your original tone and sound....

i really like this pedal.....

i run it at 18v.

I run a ts9 in front of my recto and a bb preamp with my mark iv. honestly, the bb preamp is the for what you want. it may not give you too much more gain but you should have more than enough. i use it as a clean boost predominantly and i never turn it off. the only reason i have the ts9 in front of the recto is because i have been playing my mark iv way more lately.

Thanks for the tips, ts9 is out of my basket, i really think now that the bb preamp would be the one, gotta go check it out, nearby store had one used there, so hopefully the price is right

Just start buying them all. Let the OD GAS begin. I have a nice collection for this reason

The BB and OCD cool for sure. But every recto owner should have an 808 IMO too

To tighten a recto- look no further than a Maxon OD808- the original TS...

+1. Maxon OD808 works great with a Recto. Thats what I've been using till recently.

You're gonna find this unusual, but try a Line6 M9 stompbbox modeller in front as well. I use it's OD, noisegate and tuner in front. Works really well, and replaces my pedalboard effectively. The OD is not as smooth as the Maxon, but will do the job very nicely for the price.

I've found that turning up the mids helps. You could always further shape the tone using an EQ pedal in the loop...

I've tried the Maxon 808, the Ibanez ts9tdx and I've just bought a Bad Monkey.

I never had the change to compare them all. The first one was the Maxon and the the ts9.

Now that I have my cheap Bad Monkey I don't really miss neither the Maxon or the ts9. I guess that the 3 are very similar, honestly. Note that I only use it as a clean boost. As an overdrive maybe the differences are bigger.

It makes my legato and sweeps easier. I guess I'll be using it on only for leads, as I'm happy with the rythm tones with channel 4 just by itself.

Just IMHO
