    single rectifier channel 2 problem

I had a bit of a similar problem but one I bought upon myself. I am running a US110v head in Australia on 240v through a step down transformer. One time (actual two) I plugged straight into 240V and blew the fuse. The first time I did this I replaced the fuse and all was good. This time when I...

    Single Recto speaker inputs

Cheers guys. I was only wondering what it would sound like. Doubt I could be bothered lugging two cabs to band camp and gigs anyway.

    Single Recto speaker inputs

I have two 4 ohm cabs. A Marshall 1960 and a home made 2x12 with a Geenback and a V30. Both have 4 ohm inputs. Am I able to hook these up to the two 4 ohm outputs in my Single Rectifier?

    I broke it

may have done the job. :) Need to give it a blast at band camp.

    I broke it

Many thanks gentlemen. I will give it a go.

    I broke it

I have a US Single Recto that I run on 240v in Australia through a step down transformer. Twice now I have mistakenly plugged it sraight into 240V. The first time I blew the fuse but it was all good. This time I think I have damaged it. The clean channel is fine but the O/D channel has lost...

    Mark V dislike

I found that my Recto similarly has days when I love it and days when it is not so good. Never hated it though. As I have come to find with similar equipment the greater its potential the sometimes harder it is to exploit. I have continued to work and tweak my amp and am reaping the rewards.

My single rec doesn't sound good at high volumes?

Wow, mine sounds better the louder I go. That said I have never needed to (or get to unfortunately) crank it up too much. Last jam the other guitarist told me to turn it up coz he couldn’t hear me over everything else and it immediately sounded better. Even live I am conscious of killing punters...

    Mesa's are built to last...

Had my second hand Single Recto shipped via UPS from Texas to Adelaide South Australia via Singapore in a large cardboard box full of foam chips. Airlines do not handle anything with care and even though the box was full of foam chips the amp could move around a fair bit. Recieved at my office...

    any ideas?

Nah the footswitch works. At least they turn off and on through the multi meter. Its the one on the back of the chassis that stays on.

    any ideas?

ok, I know I am not really qualified to do this but I took the chassis out (avoiding touching the caps)and tested the channel switch and it is closed circuit when either up or down. This appears, to me anyway, to be faulty? The foot-switch I tested before and the switch on it work fine. Anyone?

    any ideas?

Gig last night and out of the blue my amp refuses to switch channel by its dedicated pedal. I get by with switching it by the switch on the back of the amp and alternately using a O/D pedal to go from clean to O/D during songs. Then it decides that the solo switch (on the same pedal) is not...

    Multi FX for Roadster

I looked at multi effects but in the end went for a TC Nova Delay and a TC Nova Modulator. I didn't want/need overdrive or distortion as I use my amp and a Bad Monkey for od. I have a separate tuner and wah. All I really miss out on is reverb which I may look at. The Modulator does Flanger...

    Best Boost for Recto thread

MXR CAE MC 402. Before the pre boosts the od beautifully and after gives a great solo boost. I use it and a Bad Monkey if I just want a lead on the clean channel.

What are you using for solo boost on 2 channel rectifiers?

Tried the equalizer path and was not happy. My Single Recto has a solo boost (every amp should have one!) but I also have a MXR CAE MC 401 line boost. This pedal is awesome just running in line but you can use it before the pre (or before an OD pedal) to boost drive or after to boost volume. I...

    Best Boost for Recto thread

MXR CAE works very will into my Single Recto on both clean and o/d settings. Really adds sparkle to the sound. Boosts the vintage and modern channels and thickens up the sound. I use a Bad Monkey on the clean channel for lighter o/d.

(Problem fixed: it was the tubes)

not sure about the fragility of tubes. I had a second hand Single recto sent via UPS airmail from the US to Australia in a big box with foam wafers, all loose. Worked perfectly although I admit I was a little concerned when I saw it lob.

    humming

A20 Washburn with Seymour Duncan Custom Custom/Jazz HBs. All pedals are in a loop so out of the signal path until switched in except Korg Pitch Black which is true bypass. I don't use any effects when I am on the modern OD. there is a TC Nova Delay in the effects loop but there is no noise on...

    humming

I used the Mesa recommended setting from the manual last night and got a brilliant sound after a bit of tweaking. Nicest modern sound I have got so far. Who knew? Only problem is I get a fair amount of humming. Is this normal? The gain is on about 11.00.

    get aload of this abomination

It looks awful to me. Especially the cab with the el cheapo boom box metal covers! I never quite get the point of pretty wood work on cabs and heads anyway. Not that some don't look magnificent but I cant imagine draggin them out to gigs or band practice and having the **** kicked out of them...
