Sooooo my band Die Lorelei played a show at the Hard Rock Cafe in Pittsburgh the other day and apparently they have a missing brick in the sidewalk near the entrance that I didn't see as I pushed my Dual Rectifier (luckily in a flight case with rack but it's not shockmount) on top of my Mesa 4x12 cab (not in flight case) into the building. Needless to say the whole amp fell right over pretty hard and all the other bands and people heard and saw it and cringed. I almost cried right there in front of everyone LOL. I picked it all back up and it bent up the front road case lid cover and rails pretty bad so I'm gonna have to fix that tonight and I figured my amp was probably gonna have a broken tube or be in a non-working condition but I wheeled it in anyways to check the damage. I looked at the cab and there is not a tear, mark or scratch on it somehow and it fell face first. I checked the tubes and they were all still seated perfectly and had no damage to them so I plugged it all in and it fired right up, did a sound check and it sounded better than ever! Couldn't believe it and neither could anyone else. I'm very glad I bought a Mesa, not only is the sound unmistakable and bad a$$, but they are also built like tanks! Just thought I'd share my love of my Rectifier with you guys. Anyone else have a similar story?

My #339 broke and flew out the rear passenger side window of my toyota rav4 about 3 years ago as I flipped the car off the expressway 6 times doing 80mph. #29 was rattled and my 3ch was also rattled around.

I recorded with the amps the next night.

Edit: Forgot to mention--the 3ch did suffer a cracked wood frame, but the electronics were flawless.

Holy SH!T!!!!! Now THATS a good story!!!

Hmm, so many to choose from. I've had Rectos shipped to me before in the strangest ways. I got a Recto once that was just sitting inside a 30X14X14 box. No packing materials, not secured...it was just sitting inside the box to rattle all around for a trip from CA to DC. How any shipping companies would let a box like that go is beyond me...but they did. I got it in, cracked it open and it had one rectifier tube with a hairline fracture. Replaced it and it fired up like new.

My cab is a workhorse. My Mesa Recto (Straight, Traditional) 4X12 (back before they called them Stiletto cabs) has been my primary cab for about 7 years now. It's been in and out of at least 10 practice spots regularly, tossed in the back of everything from small 2 door vehicles to the backs of trucks and trailors, slid up and down on it's side scraping across the ground/railings, been in small smoke filled bars and on stage kicked around in front of 10,000w PA's opening for major label bands, seen 100+ gigs, been knocked over tons of times, and had everything from 200 lbs men standing on it and Jager spilled all over it...

...my bandmate got a Marshall 1960B 4X12 about 6 months ago, and it already looks worse than Mesa cab that still - after all this time - has minimal wear on it... 8)

Had my second hand Single Recto shipped via UPS from Texas to Adelaide South Australia via Singapore in a large cardboard box full of foam chips. Airlines do not handle anything with care and even though the box was full of foam chips the amp could move around a fair bit.
Recieved at my office and workled perfectly, nothing damaged. :D
