The triaxis had more gain than u ever need.No pedals for extra gain.At least for the ld2 modes. Actually i liked the rectifier mode on the TA than the real recto head amp.
I opened up my top lid yesterday, and i found one component with black mark.Like a burn mark..U know black soot...Dont know wat the component is.8 of them in a row.Light brown in color.Seated right below the TX4 board.
Mostly the gain problem.Lack of gain in all the LD1 and LD2 modes.Funny thing is both the LD Drive keys will be active in RHY,LD1 and LD2 modes.Kinda 3 gain structures for my LD modes. And i also get an overdive sounds on RHY modes. Got something to do with LDR???
Maybe tubes.I...
Hey dude,i had almost the same problem as yrs.Vol and gain drop, jumped presets etc....I emailed Mesa abt it,and they recommended me to clean the ribbon cables connector in the TA.So i do it,and my TA is working fine now. :D
Maybe u shld try it.
Thanks.A friend of mine want to sell his Mark3 combo.I have to check it out first. When u rack yr 2C,wat happen to the power section? This kinda confused me.. :?
Definitely the Efx Rtn....U can use the eq on Mk IV to shape yr tone manually. The DV on TA is useless.I always use the boss eq with the TA.
The MK IV power section is SimulClass :P Juz like the 290.I think u can get the MK IV tone with the TA connect thiz way.And i believe the 4 switching jacks...
If u take the cover off and look and the pcb near the tubes bay,it read TX4 means V2.Most probably yrs is the Fat mod.Chck the resistors/caps it will give the ans.
