I agree with that. I just bought an OCD about two weeks ago and I noticed that right away. But I also find that the OCD + Ch 1 is sweetness itself - but its not the recto tone you are looking for. Sorry

I guess suck is a hard term but its all relative. Relative to the marketing hype I think its fair to use it. Yes I've turned up the volume etc etc. I have a LSS and I dearly love my amp in 30W and 15W modes. It just does not have any "extra magic " per se in 5W - at least to me. Not bad but...

basically suck. The Mesa marketing material raves about the nuance and harmonic glaze etc. and I feel that I should be hearing something sublime and uber special. And I don't! Dammit. Anyone else does?

They've been out for 15 months now so you'll start seeing them in the used market. Patience pays.

Smart move. I have one of the earliest (among the first 10 I think) Stage II's and the stiletto cabs were not available at that time so I got the 2X12 Recto and man its a dynamite combination. I agree with your logic - the brightness gets balanced by the added low end.

Get the 100W. Don't make a decision assuming that there will be a difference in volume. Like someone else said - it is marginal. A much easier way to drop the volume at home is to use the spongy setting. Just so you know: 50 Watts Bold is louder than 100 W Spongy. I've heard about the secret...

This happened to mine, inconsistently, for the first 3 months or so. Mesa sent me new tubes. That did not solve the problem and I could not recreate it on demand so I chose not to take it to a tech. Anyway the problem went away...magically. Its almost as if some new component had to settle down...

No kidding! I used to fag all the time till I came here :D :D I've quit now so no more fagging 8) Now I find "Fanny packs" and "Fannie Mae" to be rather interesting...

How do you buy direct from Mesa???? Even as an employee of a store I would imagine you still have to have the store buy it and give you the emp discount, am I missing something?
