It seems to me (mostly from what I've read, not heard) that this amp is best suited to a strat (single coil) for an SRV type of tone.

Is this true? Does a Les Paul sing through a LSS?

Everyone has a different opinion - my opinion is the amp works fine with both. My Les Paul is smooth and rich, my SG is mid-range agressive, and My Strat sings. They all sound wonderful and I don't even change EQ.

This one amp does it all for me - YMMV.

For me too,I did my whole record with a Lp copy and a Ibanez FGM.My singlecoil guitar got a very sweet tone too but that's not what I wanted on the record.

My experience has been single coil for clean and humbucker for overdrive work best.

Had my LSS for close to a year and a half and finally tried plugging in my LP Deluxe. Great cleans on ch1 and the bridge pickup on ch2 was SMOKIN! and like SabuJSE, I didn't even mess with the EQ.

I've been in this Tele/ASAT tone phase for a few years and the LP won't change that but it's nice to know that those mini 'buckers are there with the LSS when I feel like gettin' dirty. Can't believe I waited over a year to try the Les Paul in this amp, what a knucklehead.

Also, don't know how much it matters that I'm playing the LSS thru Golds and NOS tubes. Best amp I ever had for single coils or 'buckers.

Wierd :? I had almost exactly the same experience. :) Took me a year to discover the 'buckers in drive mode bliss. I guess its becaiuse we all love the LSS with our singles.
