I can't speak for the Mark's but all I play is jazz, fusion, standards, and some classic lite rock and my Lonestar Classic and DC-5 are the best amps I have used in 45 years for overall sound. I can coax anyting I want out of them.

For great diagrams and information look in your Lonestar manual. It gives all sorts of diagrams on how to hook up various types of speaker configuations.

I tried it straight in and it seems fine noise wise but I run all my modulation effects through the loop. Seems to work better for me.

Assuming your tank's OK, then you might try replacing the reverb driver in V5. The reverb on my DC-5 is OK but certainly not spectacular.

The Classic Leads are a well balanced speaker. Almost like a monitor as they don't seem to color the sound very much. The CR, as you know, tends to be a little dark. Both fit my playing needs very well especially when used together.

I would think a 212 would be plenty for home use and occasional jams. Even in medium sized clubs a 212 should handle anything you could throw at it plus it's allot easier to move around.

Another idea is to check all of the input jacks and make sure they are clean especially the jacks on the loop. I had some intermittent noise and traced it to dirty effect loop jacks. Try hard bypassing the loop and see if the noise is still there if it's not then it could be dirty jacks. Some...
