    LSC vs. Bruno Cowtipper 45

The Cowtipper is the first amp that imo does Fender cleans as good or better than my BF Fenders. In fact I might give it a slight edge against my LSC too But Its very close. This is the first amp I've played that I could live with in place of my LSC. However with that said the amps...

LSC & Zendrive = Trainwreck Express

I've never been a big pedal fan as I always thought they sounded too processed. Well the Zendrive and the LSC is incredible. I can go from shimmery open chords to searing brassy leads just by pick attack and touch. The only amp prviously I was able to do this with was the Trainwreck Express...

Great SRV & Mick Taylor tones using LSC channel 2

I'm using Wolfetone Dr. Vintages a boutique PAF and one of the most holographic and open sounding buckers I've used

Great SRV & Mick Taylor tones using LSC channel 2

I hear you Charles about Mick Taylor. Sticky Fingers what a great album. I remember taking that record with me when I stayed with my Grandma for a couple of weeks as a kid of about 7 or 8. I **** near blew out her KLH speakers. Not only a great player, Mick Taylor had great tone. After ABB...

LSS vs. Maz 38 Sr (NR): The verdict and request for advice

I would keep the LSC. I still think it's one of the best amps period at doing Fender Black Face and Tweed cleans. Get rid of the LSS and keep the Dr. Z if that tone is preferable to you but play them both for a while. I can't tell you the number of times I almost got fooled into switching...

    Lonestar or Super Reverb?

You can't go wrong with the he LSC It has got one of the best clean tones period. Plenty of spank sparkle and bounce but never ice-picky. Clean dimensional articulate with a warm shimmer. I find the newer fenders with maybe the exception of the custom shop models to be almost too clean - a...

Making a LSC sound like a MKIV

100 watts gives you a lot of clean headroom it doesn't necessarily make for high gain. I would put the gain channel on 50 watt / tube rec, dime the drive and gain and back off the Hi and Lo EQ to about 7 oclock while raising the mid EQ to taste. That should get you a nice big juicy gain tone...

    Boogies from China

There are so few high quality manufacturing jobs in the US anymore. It's nice to see a cottage industry of amp and guitar makers survive and thrive here in the good ol USA. Does that mean that all Chinese made goods all suck. No. I'm sure if the materials used are of equal quality to US...

LSC vs FUCHS ODS MINI REVEIW

I agree Blueser. I too have gone through several boutique amps only to arrive back at the LSC. What I've found is while great tone is of the utmost importance versatility is also key. And I do love the versatility of two channels and various settings on the LSC -no to mention the ability to...

LSC vs FUCHS ODS MINI REVEIW

A buddy of mine recently hooked up a Fuchs ODS 30. And I had a chance to audition it and compare it to my LSC. Bottom line is that the Fuchs has this incredible touch dynamics best I've played in any amp. With no channel swithing -just using the volume knobs and pick attack you can run...

Express 5:50 sounding "flubby" I think.

To my ears the espress distorts like a good black face fender Fender but with a little more gain: a nice moan with a little bit of hair. However if you push the gain to the max -these amps ain't gonna give you that ultra tight high gain metal distortion. Even the Mark IV while a bit tighter...

My LSC is too good. Now with almost Recto levels of distort

Geobull Let me know what you think of those settings. To my ears the LSC compared favorably with what I was able to get from the Mk IV. keep in mind that the Mk IV has so many tonal options that I'm sure in my brief time with that amp I only touched on a few Note that I did retube my...

My LSC is too good. Now with almost Recto levels of distort

I really want to buy another amp but the more I compare other amps with my LSC the more I am like why do I need another amp. I was thinking that the LSC was a bit weak with high gain -coming in a little wooly. And I was about to pull the trigger on another amp. But now I've got a great...

    5:25 vs LSS

Geobull that is definitely a sweet setup. I love the Lonestar line. imo it's clean tones are as good as the FUchs ODS and many other boutique amps I've tried. However now I am looking for an amp with a little more gain thus my interest in the Express line. I guess I could always look at the...

    5:25 vs LSS

Thanks for the info Geobull, did you audition the 5:50 as well? In my informal review of both the LSS and 5:25, I have to say I liked the 5:25 a lot more than the 5:50 even. I thought the cleans were comparable the LSS if not quite as expansive. but again it's hard to tell when you...

    5:25 vs LSS

Thanks Steve Glad to hear you like your 5:25. I too like the 5:25 and was less happy with the 5:50 tone but I do prefer a 12" speaker. I am thinking though that the 5:25 and 5:50 should be very similar sonically with identical tone stacks and preamp sections as they are essentially the...

    5:25 vs LSS

I having trouble choosing between a LSS and a 5:25 to go along with my LSC. First let me say that the Lonestars are my favorite amps. Incredibly versatile for rock n blues -fantastic sounding amps. Now my breif audtition with the Express series also left me very impressed. However, I do...

    Disapointed with the 5:50

I like the tonal range available with the Express Amps and I think the 5:25 is a great little amp. I thought the cleans compared favorably with the LSS. heck it compared favorably to my LSC albeit with an el84 twist and a little less openess. Howver the gain that this amp has is slightly more...

    Disapointed with the 5:50

I auditioned for several hours the 5:50 next to a 5:25 and an LSC and the clean channel on the 5:50 sounded sterile by comparison. Even the lighter crunch tones sounded flat and one dimensional. I really wanted to hook this amp up as an altrernated to my LSC. Plus I figured the addtional...
