Mark V head + Mesa Thiele Compact with EVM-12L

I did bought the cab. It's a Mesa Thiele open back with a Black Shadow EVM-12L. I didn't even knew that existed an open compact thiele?!?! weird. I'm really bad at this and i only had like 5 minutes with it but it seemed impossible to sit the Mark V on top of it. And the reverb tank was in...

Mark V head + Mesa Thiele Compact with EVM-12L

If the Mark feet don't fit on top of the cab I'm guessing it does matter because (correct me if I'm wrong) the reverb tank is recessed (is this the word?).

Mark V head + Mesa Thiele Compact with EVM-12L

Hello Guys, I found a nice deal on an old Mesa Thiele Compact with EVM-12L. My question is. Is it possible to "sit" the Mark V on top of it? My best regards.

I'm starting to HATE Mesa Boogie

That really sucks. Had a minor issue with channel switching right out of the box that was almost instantly solved by the MB in Portugal. Never dealt directly with them tough. All this process was nicely managed by the store were i bought it. Been quite happy with it ever since. Just keep...

    Mine has been flawless.

The MARK V really is a collection of great amps!

Not bitchin about this but.. there's a lot of people complaining about this. I really don't understand. There's more low end than you'll ever need if you're playing in a band. you'll really start to mess the bass's frequencies. in live settings i find myself backing the low end off.

    MK V gig review

Not true with/out some settings :p I'm doing some shows for a 60/70/80's band (beatles, wilson picket, zz top that kind of stuff) and i was thinking to use my 1974X Marshall. After reading your post I'm willing to give mark V a try. Can you please post your settings? Tks^^

JUST PLUGGED MY NEW MARK V IN

You could have a bad pre amp tube but that squeal is normal (especially in Mark IV mode) if you push gain/treble/presence too much. Dial back some gain/treble. Less is more with the Mark V. Congrats on the new amp. Check the settings thread, good way to start. Cheerz^^

    MARK V IN EUROPE

yeah i know, Portugal sucks. Its really hard to give that kind of money for an amp, mark V deserves it tough. Best amp I owned/played. you could get a nice deal with Musifex. They have always been nice to me.

Can't Find a decent tone in MK II C+ mode

I can't seem to find a decent tone in this mode. I like the saturated tone of the MK IV and the Extreme mode. MK II seems always so harsh, so not dinamic and with lesser gain. I'm using a Telecaster with a Seymor Duncan HH hot rails Bridge. Volume is not an issue. I practice with other amps. I...

Sometimes the Mark V Sounds Great and Sometimes...

i guess it depends on the mood, if you're playing with a band or not, slightest volume change can really make it sound so much better / worse, etc. Get a tape recorder. Record it when it sounds bad and when it sounds good. Compare it. If all the conditions are exactly the same i bet you won't...

    Need some advice please!

I know that there were some people when it just came out that were complaining with some "pop" switching channels. Mine is perfect^^ Love this amp

    Need some advice please!

Sure it is... When you know what youre doing everything is easy right? how do you assume that the tone you're getting is the best one possible? I can easily dial a great tone, but i'm sure that is someone out there that can get a much better tone. It's very relative. understanding what the knobs...

    Need some advice please!

"Does the V's Loop like the G-Major 2?" Don't really know cuz i only use a nova delay and it sounds awesome "Does the separate EQ knobs for R2 help make it more versatile?" yep. Also u have 3 very usable distinct modes in channel 2. "Does the V's Reverb cut in and out when changing channels?"...

    Mark V - Nova Delay

Good point. I'll try this. The ammount of feedback can't be the issue here cuz i'm using 2 ou 3 repeats for leads. I'll try this but this is hardly the solution cuz with the mix level at 1 i'm having way to much volume for leads. I'll definitely try it in the loop this weekend and then i'll...

    Mark V - Nova Delay

Hi guys. I'm a complete gear noob so i'm kinda lost here. I just bought a Nova Delay (its really nice) but i'm having a volume problem. I'm running the Nova in front of the amp. I know that's better running it in the loop of the Mark V. I'm trying to get a really low nice solo delay. i'm using...
