i wouldn't run it without all the tube sockets full of good tubes... your outer pair are class A and you should have a switch to toggle full power and class A... which with 6CA7's or EL-34's is about 15 watts on the C+ make sure it's a simul before sticking EL-34's or 6cA7's in the outer...

great... yeah you'll be grinning for a while! I never played thru a ++ though i'd like to see what it's all about. Probably can get most of the way there with a C+ and a clean boost out front. I have read about the ++ mod being switchable so the clean channel isn't wasted. scott

hey steve... google search the forum for packing tips.... some say to pull the output/rect. tubes and pack separately either way, wrap the head in one or two layers of bubble wrap. make a couple folded "pillows" for each end, making sure the power cord is secure and won't flop around like a...
