    Mark V No No's!

Mine too. But noticed after gig it was really hot then contacted Boogie to ask about it. That’s when they told me it was updated.

    Mark V No No's!

Also if using EL34s in 90w mode you need to run the variac. The manual updated over time to reflect this.

Settings to remove "flubbiness" in Channel 2?

Keep the bass under 10 o’clock and use the preset eq at 10 o’clock too. Even with my crunch gain 3-5 o’clock with my LP trad Pro it’s not flubby at all or even with higher gain guitars like my Tremonti.

    Power Tube Match Question

I notice one of my power tubes wasn’t even working, but seemed to not have any impact on the amp from what I can tell. Seems crazy, but whatever. I don’t want to keep it that way to be safe, it don’t have new tubes to use. I have 4 Ruby EL34s from another amp, but they aren’t matched as far as I...

    MV upgrade to JP2C

I love my V and don't have a JP2C on my radar in my foreseeable future. I'm sure it's great, but for my current needs I like the versatility of the V. I'm just wondering, for those that find the JP2C has an edge on sound, feel and response couldn't there be a mod that could be done rather than...

    Mark V + TC Electronic G-Major

Works fine for me. I keep my ins and outs all straight up and channel volumes around 11:00 and master around 11-12:00. What's not working?

Crunch Channel on Express 5:50 Plus

I'm on the fence on keeping my 5:50 Plus or just upgrading to the Mark V for the extra channel. Does anyone know if the MkV Crunch channel is the same thing on both amps? It's too hard to tell at low volumes in the store compared to cranking the Express at home.

Expresss 5:50 Plus - Burn channel similar to?

Most of the clips I've heard are muddy, but I get the feeling most of that is user error. I'll go hunt one down. I'd love to be able to gig with this over a heavier Mark V which is my next step. I don't want a head/cab or the weight of the V combo. Wish they made a 50 watt V for weight reasons...

Expresss 5:50 Plus - Burn channel similar to?

I was really hoping the burn channel would be good for modern rock stuff. I don't mean hard core metal. Do people use burn more for soloing and crunch for rhythm? I don't want to tap dance too much. I've never had an F or DC so the reference doesn't help much.

Expresss 5:50 Plus - Burn channel similar to?

Whick Mark would it be closest to for high gain stuff?

Expresss 5:50 Plus - Burn channel similar to?

What other modern gain channel or amp would the burn channel on the 5:50 plus compare too? Something in the Mark series or more Recto? Neither?

What to do if I'm a Mesa and Marshall guy?

I play in a cover band that plays mosty heavier radio friendly rock tunes from Rage to Metallica and maybe getting into some 80's hair band stuff too for fun. Anyway, I love the heavy Metallica sound the Mark V products, but also the lighter hair band Marshally sound from say a JVM. I played...

    Mark IV Silent Recording?

Of course everyone agree micing an amp is better. If that process is a 10, how would you rate the Silent Recording on the Mark IV? I can't find many clips anywhere.
