    Slave out on Blue Angel?

I have a '92 Blue Angel, and was wondering about the slave out. The manual states that the signal is derived from the speaker jack, but then states that it is for sending the signal to additional power amps. If the signal comes from the speaker jack, it would be too high a level for another...

Another Blue Angel question: FX loop

No, I understand why you are asking- it doesn't make sense. This is what I know: - pedal works in front of the amp - patch cable in fx loop works - pedal plugged in correctly into fx loop howls on AC or battery, no matter where the fx mix knob is...it shouldn't, but does..its a parallel loop. -...

Buzz/Hum using Reverb in Blue Angel

If you put your ear up to the speaker and turn the reverb up, you hear it. Not when at band volumes. My main question was if there was a buzz from the slave out...like through a DI box (I use a Red Box). The buzz into a mixer is really loud then.

Another Blue Angel question: FX loop

The patch cord trick worked. No hum. Using a reverb pedal caused loud hum (imagine the amp turned all the way up, but humming, no audio- this at any setting on the volume knob) when turned on, either with batteries or AC. A chorus pedal had the same result. Maybe it isn't meant for pedals...

Buzz/Hum using Reverb in Blue Angel

Called Mesa. The official word is that 'the reverb buzzes. Morseso thru the slave out'. If anyone with a BA can confirm that the reverb buzzes in your slave out, I can put this to rest.

Another Blue Angel question: FX loop

If I plug something like a reverb pedal in the FX loop of my BA, there is a *really* loud hum at any position of the fx loop knob, and no signal through the amp, except the hum. It cuts off the guitar signal, and replaces it with hum. The pedal works in front of the amp. I wanted to try a reverb...

Buzz/Hum using Reverb in Blue Angel

actually, the buzz is there if the reverb tank is connected or not- as long as the reverb is turned up (not on 0), you hear the buzzing.

Buzz/Hum using Reverb in Blue Angel

OK, I switched out the Reverb driver and reverb mix tube- as well as every other preamp tube, several times. The buzz is still there, with no guitar plugged in even. If the reverb is at 0, the amp is silent at any volume. Turn it up, buzz awaits. Any ideas? What to check next?

    Maverick/Blue Angel/Heartbreaker comparison - please help

I have a 1x12 Blue Angel, and yeah, you use the volume knob on the guitar. I tend not to crank mine up that much for gigs- maybe 9:00, 9:30...it breaks up when you hit the guitar hard. I use a Bad Monkey pedal for more dirt. This amp sounds great with other pedals too- I regularly use delay...

Buzz/Hum using Reverb in Blue Angel

The hum/buzz doesn't happen all the time- It comes and goes, depending on the venue. My Blue Angel is silent when the reverb is at 0, turn it up and there is a noticable buzz/hum. When it happens, it is on any tube setting, at any volume. The ground switch doesn't fix it. The guitar signal is...

Handle for my Blue Angel 1x12

When I bought my BA used 10 years ago, the handle was the only thing that was 'wrong' with it- it looked like some of the leather had split slightly. Now 10 years and many gigs later, I am really afraid to pick it up by the handle anymore- anyone know where I can find a replacement? Even though...

    Blue Angel static/hissing/popping

This didn't happen before the swap. This happened 2 months after. When on standby, it is silent. When I take it off standby, even without a cord plugged in, the static is there. Yes, I kept the old tubes, and swapped V1. It stopped. Swapped V1 again with the JJ I had taken out, and, it the...

    Blue Angel static/hissing/popping

My BA sounds like an old Gramaphone even with nothing plugged in. I tried plugging it in different locations, spinning the knobs up and down, all 3 power tube settings- same result. The static comes in about 5 minutes after the amp is on. Probably would be drowned out by the guitar at gig...

    Blue Angel tubes

Just put in a full set of JJs. Wow, this is what it is supposed to sound like. Its like a wet blanket was taken off of the amp. This is what it is supposed to sound like. Im sold-JJs rock in the Blue Angel.

    Blue Angel tubes

as far as the speaker, it is the stock Mesa speaker. my blue angel isn't horribly dark, it is just 'a little' darker than i think it should be. i might try a V1 change first, and then go from there.
