The hum/buzz doesn't happen all the time- It comes and goes, depending on the venue. My Blue Angel is silent when the reverb is at 0, turn it up and there is a noticable buzz/hum. When it happens, it is on any tube setting, at any volume. The ground switch doesn't fix it. The guitar signal is amplified as always, with this added hum which gets louder as I turn the reverb up.

So, since this comes and goes, and it doesn't happen at home- what can cause this to happen at certain venues? I need reverb. Especially the reverb on this amp, it rocks. A tube problem? Or something else altogether? Which one is the reverb tube?

I'm guessing you're on the right track. Most likely a tube problem. Give Mesa a call if you need help.

OK, I switched out the Reverb driver and reverb mix tube- as well as every other preamp tube, several times. The buzz is still there, with no guitar plugged in even.
If the reverb is at 0, the amp is silent at any volume. Turn it up, buzz awaits. Any ideas? What to check next?

Make sure the wires that connect your reverb tank to the amp are firmly connected. It also would not hurt to clean the jacks and plugs with some good quality cleaner like Caig Labs De-Ox-It.

Called Mesa. The official word is that 'the reverb buzzes. Morseso thru the slave out'.

If anyone with a BA can confirm that the reverb buzzes in your slave out, I can put this to rest.

My Blue Angel is very quiet. I only use the built in reverb, and a tubescreamer out front. Sorry, I didn't read this before I responded to the other thread.

My Blue Angel is the quietest amp on the stage at idle, or whenever. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I can't imagine them being a buzzy amp being used on a late night talk show, ect. Randall Smith didn't let this out of the shop humming and buzzing.

Something is wrong, you'll find it.

Best of luck.

If you put your ear up to the speaker and turn the reverb up, you hear it. Not when at band volumes. My main question was if there was a buzz from the slave out...like through a DI box (I use a Red Box). The buzz into a mixer is really loud then.

I used to use a Red Box (not with a Blue Angel though). I let somebody else play my guitar and went out into the crowd. After listening to the tone of my guitar through the PA, I sold the Red Box and bought an SM57 to mic my amp. Sounds much better now. YMMV.
