Your tricks for a SICK lead tone?

On the subject of your tone making you play better, it makes sense. Once you hear that inspiring tone on a given day, doesn't it kinda make you shred just a little more? It puts you just a bit over the edge to rock out more and focus it all into your wrist and fingers. As far as leads: Phase 90, wah, or delay.

I like clean boosts for this. I use the MXR/CAE Boost or a BBE Boosta Grande. Into the front of the amp for cooking (compresses the tone and tightens the bottom end up), or in the effects loop as a volume shot

+1 on the tube screamer idea. They make a sick addition to a "rhythm" sound on your dirty channel too.

Different variations on sick, but I've found with the LSC by going easy on the gain from the amp, and using a clean boost pedal, and a Barber LTD or a Home Brew Electronics Power Screamer, I couldn't be more pleased.

I'm SURE this could be done with similar and pleasing results on a Stiletto.
