If you could only use 2 settings (one for Ch 1 & one for Ch 2), which would you choose? Let us know what style of music you're playing too so we can see it in perspective.

It's hard to decide whether Ch 1 should be clean or crunch, and whether Ch 2 should be crunch or balz to the walz. I need them all in a live situation and don't like tweaking an amp b/w songs.

I do a light crunch on channel 1, and fluid drive on channel 2. If I need pristine clean, I either switch pups or back off the volume on my guitar. I kinda like a dirty clean though.

Works perfectly for me!

+1. The only difference is if I need pristine clean, I use a GT10 clean preamp. Most of the time though, I'm on crunch channel 1 or fluid drive on channel 2.

I play in a mostly-90's alt cover band, using a Yamaha SG with Duncan 59's into my Ace 1x12. I mess with my settings a lot, but usually come back to the following (all numbers = o'clock):

Ch 1: Tite clean, gain 11, master 10. Nice low gain sound that gets pretty hairy when digging in and cleans up easily with softer attack. EQ--treble and presence around 2-3, mid about 12, and bass about 2.

Ch 2: Crunch, gain 10, master 12. EQ pretty much straight up except for bass at 3.

Always spongy power, both channels diode, loop in, output about 10. I use an MI Crunch Box in front (Gain 9:00, tone 12:00, output at unity) when I need extra gain. The combo is paired with a home-built closed 2x12 with WGS Vet 30s.

That's a great idea! I could prob setup my channels like a Roadster on my GT-8! Clean preamp for patch 1, Crunch in CH1 for patch 2, Tite Gain CH2 for patch 3, and add an OD to Tite Gain CH2 for patch 4 (for heavier stuff). I could then use the patch number hit a second time to switch to solo mode using the FR preamp so I can still get a volume boost... I'm just thinking out loud really... Haha.

I'm running Fat Clean on Ch1 for pristine clean and Crunch on Ch2 for medium gain. For everything else I switch to my Roadster. Sometimes, it's good to be me...

This is exactly what I do, but with a GT-Pro.

I'm in a cover band playing rock music from the late 60s to mid 70s mostly.
It's a two guitar band and I play more rhythm than lead.
That said, I pretty much live on Channel 1 Fat Clean and Channel 2 Crunch.
If I need to, I use one or both of my Expandora OD pedals to fire things up a bit.

I sure do love that Tight Gain mode though.

For me:

CH1: Crunch mode w/ diode on for cleans w/ some texture.
CH2: Tite gain for heavy rhythm stuff which I play the most often.

These are the best so far...I've got a bunch of pedals I haven't even tried yet!!! I'm really liking this Ace!!!
