Can the Stiletto do Metal?
Well, i tend to think so.
one of my bands records with a room mic at the rehearsal studio every practice, and i recorded tonights practice with my Stiletto Deuce II tonight.
I was playing on Ch. 2- Fluid Mode, 100watts, and Bold. Standard "E" tuning. Guitar, an Ibanez SZ720FM loaded with a Duncan Distortion.
No mixer, just a room mic. Guitar could have been louder, and bass lower. oh well.

If you ever wondered if Stiletto's could be heavy, give this a listen.

Howdy again.

I was working on a new song for one of my bands (we have a show in a few weeks and not enough songs, so was trying to come up with something simple and heavy), and this time, i added a few things, and did a recording with an SM57 mic'ed to a 4x12 Rectifier Traditional Cab, and direct into Garageband. the path is as follows...Guitar (Ibanez SZ720FM (my favorite guitar w/ a Duncan Distortion), to a Boss NS-2 (noise suppressor, as a gate), into the Stiletto Deuce II. In the effects loop i placed an MXR m108 10 band eq with a extremely small amount of dip in the mids. (the EQ really tightens up a rectifier (i used to use it with my Triple and Dual), and makes the Stiletto sizzle and tighten even more).

This is a guitar only track, recorded using the Stiletto's Ch.2 Fluid Gain.

After listening to the track, it sounds a slight bit bass heavy, but in my room it sounded massive...if i was to rerecord it, i would bring the bass down a little bit.
give it a listen and tell me what you think?
