His tech said it was only cosmetic damage, but the cab is ruptured! I was thinking that this amp should be in the $500 range, but that's just me!

I'd sure think twice about buying it on ebay without a close inspection. I agree that corner looks completely cracked open. I'd say it would knock two or three hundred bucks off the price considering you'd have to spend at least that to find a replacment shell. Knowing Mesa build quality, I expect the amp is fine.

A few years back I watched my MKIV fall out of a rental truck parked up hill. It was in a roadcase but took a really hard hit on concrete. I was sure the amp was done, but other than a few loose tubes it was fine. It took me much longer to recover! :D

Yeah, I bet!

I sold a Heartbreaker combo about 3 or 4 years ago and UPS completely destroyed it. The box left my office 36" high and came back 18" high.

The cab was destroyed!

I replaced it and a few of the mini switches and the damn thing worked perfectly!

Still though, he's asking way more than they go for to start with and it's had a really hard fall!

Yep, I'm pretty clueless on what Mav's have been selling for lately but this seems high.

What strikes me as funny is that he's got this nice road case but the amp is beat to hell. WTF was he using the case for??? Obviously it wasn't for protecting the amp.....

And yeah, that price is definitely too high.

Someone in my area is selling a blue angel for like $450. The economy around here sucks, so if you get lucky enough for some poor sap to sell his gear locally, you get a pretty good price. The amp is like mint too.

:D Right on Nick! That's a hell of a score!

No wonder you're building a great collection.

I think I'm the only guy here with any Mesa amps. I know of a studio that has a Nomad 55, but I don't think they want to part with it. I did some repairs last year on it and it is a really nice amp. Reverb sucks, but I can fix that!
