Hi guys, I've been looking to buy a long head version of a IIc+. I new to this board, but it seems to be pretty cool and I'll accept pretty much any offer, as long as the price is reasonable. Feel free to send me messages if you have one for sale.

Thanks, but I saw that one and some modifications has been made to it, I'd prefer a non modded version of a IIc+, especially at 2800$.

Where are the modifications? If you seach down that thread, there is another link with some gut shots. Also, in my humble opinion, the original C+ prices are not going to "bottom out" just because of the MkV release. You might want to just go try the MkV at a local Boogie dealer when it arrives. Any 20+ year old Boogie will need a good freshen up by a qualified tech, no matter how much you pay for it. Good luck on your tone quest. 8)

I understand that some parts must be replace, hell it's about 25 years old. But a transformer is an intergral part of the amp's tone and in this amp, it has been changed. And I think your skiping to clonclusion, where have I said that IIc+ prices will drop? I said that 2800$ was high because the vast majority of the c+ that I saw were going for 2000$-2400$. Also I have tried a Mark V, don't get me wrong, it's a good amp, but I don't like the feel from them. It's kinda choked, hard to explain. Anyways, thanks for the link.

If the Output transformer was swapped for the later Simul OT (which is what is being suggested) there is no difference ins spec, looks size, etc than the original. The only thing that was changed was the part number. 562300 vs SC-152019B
So as you state (and then imply), your concern is it being integral to the amps tone that a swapped OT will cause some tonal difference. In this case there is none! It'll be the same as any other similarly configured Simul C+

+1 to this. I was the one posing the question to the seller in the other thread, and it's exactly what GTS was saying if I recall correctly. There's nothing that's going to make a huge sonic difference there.

The only reason why I was asking was because I spoke to the person who sold this amp originally on the board quite at length and I was curious if it was the same head unit. That amp will walk ands talk just like any other IIC+ with similar options. I just wanted to know if it was the same amp I already discussed at length with someone else.
